  • I think I might have the paper version of that pattern. Could you let me know what size you’re making and I’ll measure my pieces and see if they add up to the same as yours?

Generally royalty are a bit at odds with the American meritocratic ideal wherein all babies are seen as equally worthy, wouldn’t you say? Cute babies, though, and I…[Read more]

Masha – I read this yesterday and just now got time to comment – I have been thinking of you all day. I’m sending love and positive thoughts as well.

We have a friend (Julia’s basketball coach) who was an NBA player who had a stroke in his 30’s. He’s fine now, but it (obviously) changed his life.

Well, my quest for the perfect fit is improving almost daily, as I make more and more mistakes…no, seriously I am finally getting g to grips wit it, I think. I’ve made some Oliver+s patterns too of course, a new bubble dress for my granddaughter Rose and teaching my daughter to sew the baby layette pattern for the new baby, Chloe. But also lots…[Read more]

Wouldn’t it be great if Kate turned out to be a secret sewist and she started ordering dozens of Oliver+s patterns and posting them in our Flickr group?

Liesl could introduce a new boys blazer, called of course, The George, and a new unisex baby pattern called The Charlie… Or alternatively, a girls’ pattern could be called, Buckingham Palace…[Read more]

My kid has got arms like an ape
There’s no way she’ll fit in this cape
    I’ve lengthened and lengthened
    Reinforced seams and strengthened
But it’s now whipped my arms into shape!

Sewing friends sure are the best

  • Sarvi, I use the large messenger bag as is 🙂 I can fit an A4 notebook, wallet, phone, drink bottle and lunch. And there’s often a little space left for some shopping, fabric of course 🙂
This is the 3rd one I’ve made myself, it’s the bag I use every day. I must get photos of the original one I made that shows the wear marks 🙂 I’ve made 3…[Read more]
