Have finished a pair of Sandbox pants in navy cord, and a Swing skirt for Miss C to wear in Bali. Have just posted latest creations to Flickr. There are rather a lot of pic but I’d really appreciated people’s patience. Not so much industry as very limited download on home computer therefore slow speed in uploading better lit pics to Flickr.

I’m worried we’ve rather taken over the recital dress topic here!
I’m really looking forward to this, I think it’s a really inclusive theme. It could be sneaky school uniform, so very practical, it could be fancy dress ready for Halloween, it could be a recital dress or it could be something really whimsical. It isn’t that usual to see younger…[Read more]

Oh I think just B & W. :). Maybe grey since monochrome is the spectrum really. Otherwise anything goes.
What if we plan for end of September? Enough time to plan and execute?

I am still on my jumprope. We went to NYC for the weekend for our anniversary. Bought fabric. Now I’m really behind!

I made myself another Penny pinafore, this time the dress, for book week assembly. I started it after work yesterday and had it finished by bedtime. I love having a TNT pattern for me!

needlewoman replied to the topic How 'long' does the Tea Party Dress (18-24 mth) fit? in the forum oliver + s: tea party 10 years ago
Thank you Sarvi, your experience of the T Party is also very helpful as I cut out a size 5 of the dress, and would like to make it up for the intended child but was concerned it might be too tight. Now I know it’s probably worth the effort, and if it doesn’t fit Miss B, then it will be fine for a younger child. Since leggings are all the go here,…[Read more]

Lightning McStitch replied to the topic Parachute polo in all knit? in the forum oliver + s: parachute polo + sweatpants 10 years ago
@justsewit Tamara mine was a relatively thick, stable blend knit. Not as thick as a Ponte. No curling like a cotton lycra, so probably a poly blend. It has a slightly brushed surface and is lovely to wear. It’s the same fabric I’m wearing in the V neck tutorial post.
I’d say it should work in most knits but not really slinky viscose jerseys! -
Lightning McStitch replied to the topic Fairy Tale sizing help? Skip the darts? in the forum oliver + s: fairy tale 10 years ago
The best thing to do is probably to measure the flat pattern across the waistline. Without the darts will it give a big enough waistline?
It would be lovely to do them the same as your first.
I’m wary of the LTTS tutu as wedding attire due to the potential gap at the back. The apron style is perfect for dress ups but would not be a good look in church! -

I’ve just started my zebra dress. I’ll round up some other pics from Flickr/Pinterest and get an inspiration post up on the blog to get us started. Now, I challenge anyone to come with a monotone/September catchy title!

Brittney replied to the topic Sleeves too short? in the forum oliver + s: school bus t-shirt 10 years ago
I have to lengthen the sleeves on this one, but my kids are tall for their age. When I made my son one without, it ended up being more of a 3/4 sleeve.

Agree with the above! Wear for a long time with leggings. My daughter’s nearly 6 and her size 4s still fit, they’re just too short to wear without something underneath.
