I’ve made a few dress ups over the years 🙂 Including for 3 year old’s but last child of 3 or 4 kids, so their interests are informed by older siblings!
Gernerally I would go generic, long sparkly skirts with elastic waistbands; capes, anything from a rectangle to a fully lined LTTS cape, they can be used so many ways; animal hoods and tails, I’m thinking of making the LTTS cape with animal ears one day.
More specifically I make two type of costume, dress up or everyday wear. Dress ups are the items that will almost only be used for dressing up and almost never as clothes to wear out, remember this is a child’s idea of appropriate clothes to wear out not ours 🙂 And Every day costumes are the ones that could/will be worn everyday and everywhere, I like to make these as washable, practical and robust as possible 🙂
