Hello friends,
By way of in-depth introductions, I’m going to start with my personal favorite this season, the Yanaka Jacket.
This is an unlined jacket without closures or set-in sleeves, so it’s really easy and quick to sew! It’s sort of a cross between a blazer and a cardigan, and it showcases special fabrics very nicely. I love the stand-up collar, the cut-away silhouette, and the little notch at the center-back hem.
Because it has an underarm/sleeve gusset you get a nice fit and ease of movement, and we included cup sizes with an added dart for C and D cups to help you with the fit even more. This style is designed to be cropped to the waist, but of course you can add length if you want. And you’re going to flip when you see what all our testers and the Advisors Circle did with this style!

This is a wonderful pattern. I will be purchasing and sewing it in a heavy cotton. I think it looks great with jeans and it will dress up too!
Will this pattern work with boiled wool?
I haven’t tried it but would imagine it would be great.
I was also wondering about boiled wool as I have been drooling over some from an online source. The lines and details of this pattern are lovely. Definitely will make a Muslim first. Great idea someone had to embroider it. I will purchase pattern as Christmas gift to self! It will be challenging for me.
This jacket has such a wonderful look to it, very interesting with the collar and v notch at the back hem line. Love your choice of fabric, so many home dec fabrics that I love and have in my stash. This is my favorite of the new patterns, too! The versatility of the jacket is perfect — even in these work-from-home days of the pandemic. But I’m most gaga for the standup collar. Swoon. I’m eager to make this one for myself in any of the stylish mid-weight fabrics I’ve been holding on to for a long time waiting for the right pattern to come along.
I’m thinking about using this jacket for an embroidery blank. What do you think?
I’d love to try this pattern in cotton that I could quilt/trapunto in a compatible design.
Or as a modern Chanel jacket take.

I was a bit leary about sewing this pattern at first, as I hadn’t made anything like it and it was my first pattern with this company. My concerns were pleasantly dismissed after sewing this with a beautiful boucle fabric. Well written pattern with easy to follow directions, fits great, and a joy to wear. Can’t wait to try the other two shirt patterns I purchased! Thank you for a great pattern!
My pattern doesn’t include any cutting layout diagrams. Does anyone else’s include that?
The cutting layouts can be found on the pattern sheet, usually on the upper-right-hand side of the sheet.

The cutting layout is on:-) page 13 of pdf file. I made mine out of a heavy boucle and turned out very nice. Have fun 🙂
I am not an accomplished seamstress, I find the instructions, vague and confusing. I tried to look it up on the website provided, and it said that this was not a website.
If there’s any way to get clarification in regard to lay out of this pattern, I would appreciate it
