Sue C started the topic Chaval coat lining in the forum liesl + co: chaval coat 10 months ago
I’m making the coat. My fabric is fairly heavy and thick. I’m at the point of adding the collar, and the directions tell me to add the collar to the coat, and the collar lining to the lining, and then bag the whole thing. I’m wondering if I can’t construct the collar, sew it to the coat, and then “bag” the lining. The last jacket I sewed was…[Read more]

I think it would work! I haven’t tried it personally, and you might have to play with the waistband length to get the right fit, but it should work, yes.

Would it be possible to do a Peckham waistband on the Hollywood trousers? I’d like something a bit more flexible and am wondering if that would work.

Lightning McStitch replied to the topic Confusion about sleeve cuff in the forum liesl + co: classic shirt 1 year ago
Hi Phyllis, can you add some pictures of your pattern (maybe the original pattern, any tracing you made, and your cut fabric)?
There are notches to align the cuff and the sleeve, and dots to help work out where to pivot when sewing on the cuff.
I’d love to have a good sewing studio/video set-up so I could video this for you. It is very neat and easy… -

I have the same problem with these instructions — when I do what the instructions say, my placket gets caught in the seam. In addition, my pattern pieces differ from the instructions on page 15, “Sew the Cuffs.”
On the illustrations, there are little tick marks that look like notch marks along the bottom of the cuff and facing drawings, but…[Read more]

If you have the paper pattern, you’ll find it on the pattern sheet. If you have the digital version it’s located after the instructions and before the pattern pieces.

It’s very odd what shows (or doesn’t) in your screenshot. Here’s a screenshot of what I have when I open the file. Layers appear for me.
It could be that there is something corrupt in the file on your computer. You could try deleting it and downloading a new copy using the link in your sales receipt email.

Hi Todd, see attached screenshot. The “layers” button shows up, but it doesn’t click to reveal anything. When I click on the three dots to the right of the layers button, the layers menu is greyed out. Its strange!

Is just the name of the pattern showing up? If so, click on that and it will open to show the layers. If it’s not that, can you provide a screenshot? It seems very odd that you can’t access the layers. They are there….
