Liesl Gibson replied to the topic How Do I Cut Havana Top's Placket Template? in the forum liesl + co: havana pajamas 3 months ago
From your second post it looks like you’ve done it correctly. You simply cut along the dotted lines on the paper template and place it over your cut paper in order to transfer the lines and trim the bottom edge, just like with a pattern piece. You’re doing great!

Hi. Since it’s my first time sewing a placket, I would like to know what the wrong side of it looks like.
Are the outer edges of the plackets not stitched down?

Hello. The template for the Havana shirt placket doesn’t have a clear cut line like other pattern pieces. How should I cut it? I understand that I need to place this placket template above the placket fabric in order to mark out the stitching line and center cutting line.

Lightning McStitch replied to the topic Odd adjustment needed in the forum liesl + co: all day shirt 4 months ago
Hi Amy,
It’s not so odd at all, but very common for men’s shirts to need a sloping shoulder adjustment.
It appears he could use a minor adjustment on his left shoulder and obviously a more dramatic one in his right side.
– my husband also has slightly sloping shoulders with a big drop on the right side due to a (twice) broken collar bone!
This…[Read more] -

My fiancé has a dislocated collarbone which has caused a 1” displacement compared to his other shoulder. There are drag lines on that side and I’m not sure if I can fix it and what I need to do in order to fix it. Also, is there an adjustment I could make when I make other shirts for him? Thanks in advance!

Liesl Gibson replied to the topic How to finish neck collar on Yanaka jacket in the forum liesl + co: yanaka jacket 4 months ago
Hi Leah, I’m not clear which part of the instructions or illustrations are not clear. The illustrations show each step of the jacket as it is being constructed. The illustrations were made using photos of the jacket as I sewed it. All components are included exactly as they are in the pattern. I’m more than happy to help, to add photos, to do a…[Read more]

As a new user of Liesl pattern ( although an advanced sewer) I think you should amend the directions for the Yanaka Jacket . You should picture the jacket front pieces in your drawings and tell when they should be attached. These two components were left out of the directions. Leah

You can either send the file and ask the copy shop to print just the pages you indicate, or if you want to split out the full sized pages, you can use this free tool: https://www.ilovepdf.com/split_pdf

Hi,
I have several patterns that I’ve never made because I can’t figure out how to print out the copyshop size patterns. These are the patterns with home printing and copyshop size in the same pdf. Whenever I try to upload them, I get an error message, and I don’t want to print out 50+ pages. Is there any advice for getting these printed? Thanks!

I’m so glad you like them! They’re one of my favorites as well.
When you say culotte length, do you mean longer shorts (someplace above the knee) or are you envisioning something more like a split skirt that’s below the knee? For this pattern we deliberately changed the shape of the rise and the inseam to get a really good shorts shape, so I’m…[Read more]

I’ve made the Lisboa walking shorts several times; love them, so comfortable and a bit tailored with the lovely front pockets. I would like to use the pattern and lengthen the legs to culotte length. The fabric I have in mind is a drapey subtle striped wool or wool blend. Any advice? Any reason not to try this?
