The yoke is double fabric, so maybe you wouldn’t need one? Or what about making a slip dress to wear underneath? You could use the Pinwheel to make a simple slip that could be worn under other things as well. It wouldn’t be difficult to fully line it, but it might make it a bit heavy.

Hmmmm…. I’ve made both the M and the L of the All Day Shirt and found the collar matched the neckline with notches aligning and only a ” regular” amount of easing to fit.
Is there any chance you did the same as the OP and cut the shirt on the placket line not the front cutting line? Your collar looks fine, so us the shirt too small?

I am having the same problem, but am pretty sure I cut correctly. I am making a men’s Medium, with the neck, collar stand and collar cut size L. I have checked (repeatedly) to make sure the pattern pieces printed correctly (using both PDF and Adobe Acrobat). The grid is exactly 1 inch. Thank you I used the buttons and they seem fine.

It’s difficult to sew for someone without actually being able to fit a muslin for them. You could always use a larger neckline/collar on a smaller size if needed.

For corduroy, since it’s so thick and heavy you might want to use larger buttons. You’ll have to use your judgement. You can probably make 1/2″ buttons work–you’ll just have to be sure the buttonholes are small enough to support the buttons and be sure to leave enough of a shank when you sew the buttons that they don’t pull themselves through the…[Read more]
