I am keen to make the polo top too. Liddy needs a new PE kit and I want to try the feminine version in a cotton/spandex knit.
I have made a lot of polo tops, I stopped counting in my head when I reached 40 (most of them pale blue) I am super interested to make this one up.
I am sure it will be excellent. -

@justsewit, Burda do a range of patterns for ‘solid’ children. I like Burda, they are not O+S but they are not half bad.
I got my Garden Party PDF glued together, 25 minutes, start to finish.

In terms of sewing this week, it has been a complete disaster! I spent much of it trying to alter and fit a pair of trousers to my seemingly bulky nine year old son. Let’s just say I officially gave up on Tuesday! Because the last time I altered a pattern it worked. This time the time pressure got to me and it just WASN’t working. So we will HAVE…[Read more]

I am very much looking forward to sinking my teeth into these two pattern. Unfortunately only one of my three children fit the sizes amd she will get the pattern all to herself and for a long time too as she hasn’t even hit the 6-12 month sizes yet.
I love the idea of the butterfly top with bloomers for our summer and I am thinking that even…[Read more]

@needlewoman, I’m still fairly new to making clothes and sewing in general, but a walking foot really reduces the intimidation factor in sewing knits. I have a generic walking foot (cheap on Amazon), and it and my 30 year old, 2nd hand machine (no special stitches) can tackle knit sewing just fine. Add in a double needle for hemming, and I’ve…[Read more]

Thanks for the kind words, @needlewoman! I’m glad you like the patterns and appreciate your support and encouragement. It’s always so nice to hear a kind word!
If it helps at all with regard tot he knits, you really don’t need any special equipment. So don’t let knits intimidate you! If you haven’t tried them yet, I think you’ll be pleasantly…[Read more]

Liesl, Todd and all the hardworking persons associated with Oliver+S; just wanted to say that I really do like the new kids’ patterns. As I don’t really have the wherewithall for knit sewing, I will be purchasing both size-sets of the Butterfly Top, and skirt. I can see lots of potential for these items, and they look comfortable for kids.
Thank…[Read more]

Cooking and Baking 10 years agoOh my! All of these recipes sound great!
One of my favorite meals to make are pouches. Super quick. Last night we layered salmon on top of asparagus (it’s asparagus season here yay), drizzled with olive oil, salt and pepper and topped the salmon with a couple sprigs of thyme and a couple slices of lemon. They are wrapped in their serving…[Read more]

I’m up to choosing the buttons for my first Hopscotch skirt, and have cut out two size 8 Rollerskate dresses. Say I’m you’s Garden Party dress has inspired me to try one for Miss 6 1/2 (recently finished the Lunch Box culottes, and a Badminton top for this child). Last December, I cut out a Hopscotch skirt for her but when I got it out last night,…[Read more]

Mood Fabrics is fun but with so many types of fabrics there you should have an idea of the type of fabric you are looking for so you can zero in more quickly. It has floor to almost ceiling packed with rolls of fabrics with signs stating the fabric type and fiber. They also carry ribbons and buttons and fastenings. If you only want to go to one…[Read more]
