I think this is the one? I ended up adding a waistband so that I could extend it into a snap-tab, and 5 pockets because she loves pockets. -

Oh what a good idea! So basically lengthening the button pannel? But with the same facing at the edgie? Do you have any pictures to share?

I have made overalls by just extending and reshaping the button-front panel on the sailboat pants, and a jumper by doing so with the skirt. These look like they might be a lot wider in the waist than the leg tho!

Such really useful info, ladies. I don’t have much experience sewing pants, but I do know that kids’ widths are various points on their bodies commonly differ radically from their lengths. Thank you.

I’m not sure if the following fits into this thread but I wanted to tell the forum that all the things I made for the Maytime Fair sold well, and quickly, and were popular ie the stall manager would like some more of the same, next year. So my contribution raised $300; nearly 25% of the stall’s overall takings. Isn’t that cool? I’m told that the…[Read more]

from another mom of a skinny skinny boy for whom I have made many many pairs of pants: measure him in the rise and compare that to a pair of pants that fit well (according to both him and you!).
