I’m attacking my WIP box! Most other it is at least 2 year old. So far I have finished a pram liner for over 2 years ago. Now what next?

@Deepa that is a good thought.
I am planning a pair in the smallest size to be made with drill. So will see if it has something to do with the fabric.

I have made the size 5 three times. I had the issue being discussed in this forum, on the first pair, which was a medium weight twill type cotton. I just trimmed off the excess from the bottom. The second and third were made from apparel weight cotton and went off okay. Maybe it has something to go with the amount of stretch in the fabric weave. I…[Read more]

It’s sort of to take over from the ill fated music class shirt – which will be looked at and hopefully correctly completed soon. I made a pair of pink playtime leggings and the liberty pepler will go with it so there is another outfit sorted.
I don’t feel like sewing corduroy at the moment. The weather is just too hot! Everywhere else in…[Read more]

Justsewit, I think the Hide and Seek will look awesome with the liberty fabric. Also, I love that pattern. It’s my dd’s favorite violin recital gear.
Heidi, congratulations on your quilt top!

I just finished these in 12–18 but used the 3T lengths (I know that’s not really how you’re supposed to do it…) and I also had this issue. I just attached the side panel starting from the top, which made my notches line up, and assumed the purpose was for not taking any chances when making the hem. Clearly not, though!

I have decided to try a hide and seek tunic from the liberty pepper. So I have cut one out, sort of, and intend on sewing it up by the end of the week.

LucyM replied to the topic What to do with 1/2 yard cuts of Liberty in the forum sewing with liesl + co and oliver + s 10 years ago
I agree with Rachel that Lazy Days skirts are perfect uses of 1/2 yard cuts. One can get creative by including in-seam or patch pockets with contrasting fabric. One can vary the shapes of the patch pockets for visual interest. Instead of ribbon for the hem, one could use a hem facing and finish it in the style of the Family Reunion dress, or put…[Read more]

Sew Alongs 10 years agoHeidi, I feel better knowing I am not alone in the fold/unfold the placket issue!
Brittney, did you wash and steam the neck before adding the collar back on to see if it would rebound/fit? Or was this after?
I think I am going to cut a a larger sized collar in muslin and see if it fits. I just can’t figure out what I did wrong. But as I will…[Read more]

I’m with @Inder–use it or trim and yokes and details and you’ll get lots of mileage out of it! But I love @with-love-heidi‘s list! Can’t wait to see it.

I think it’s a matter of personal preference, yes. I used this method for the instructions because it’s less fiddly. But if you prefer the single fold bias method that’s an easy change to make.
