If we’re tagging old photos I’d better go and the half my photos 🙂
Do we put the tag in the “tag” section of the photo on flicker or just in the comments? -

Happily it may be the push I need to redo my all time favourite pattern mash in a new, bigger size. It was the back if the After School pants on modified front of the Field Trip. I made about five pairs in the end… -

Well done Tamara!
I helped my nephew sew about half of his new onesie, we were covered in bits of black and yellow fluff from the coral fleece. He did really well, including inserting the zip and making pockets.
Then my niece, who is 6, unpicked (by herself) the straps on the bag she made a few weeks ago. And reattached them, and the Velcro, to…[Read more] -

I am putting the finishing touches to my birthday party dress. I used the elastic measurements from the layette pattern to use for the elastic on the seashore bloomers and it was a little long. I couldn’t get the whole length to go into the casing! So had to take a bit off and in exchange got the right amount of gather on the leg and waist (not…[Read more]

I’m looking forward to seeing what you come up with Sarvi – haven’t seen your sewing alot lately so it will be nice to see how you mash things up.
I have a few ideas but have to get kcw out of the way first.

Try doing this http://fiveandcounting-motherof5.blogspot.com.au/2014/03/garden-party-dress-part-two.html except for adding the waistband. Baste the side seams, fit and adjust yours gathers and then unpick the side seams and add the waist band.
Then you can make it as big as you need too.xx N

Thanks so much for all the ideas and input! What a great community! Now in regretting spending so many years lurking and never contributing!
How do I not sew the waist band in place until the dress is fitted to her? I’ve made the dress three times and I topstitched it when the instructions told me too.
I might consider doing the ice cream…[Read more]

This will be a good challenge for me. I’m not really a masher upper and I don’t know why, I always like the results other folks get quite a bit.

Reveal date: Feburary 5, 2016 Because end of year craziness and you have PLENTY of time to brainstorm, plan, and execute.
“Rules”: Mash-up one or more O +S pattern. Because we are so “rule” bound over here! 🙂
