I initially thought that too but the file is named “1201_pattern”. Not sure why. 🙂

Heidi, I just purchased the odf pattern of the Appleton. Did you have issues downloading it at all? It doesn’t seem to want to load on the ipad😕

Ok I see where it is now. Sorry, it sounds as though I am ignorant. I have to alter patterns also and it has just become second nature to take any pattern I want to use for myself and go ahead and alter it to fit me. I am convinced now though that trying the Appleton dress pattern woukd actually be kind of a nice chance to see if the many changes…[Read more]

I’m looking forward to this challenge as pretty much all my sewing for the next 2 months will be Christmas gift sewing, including Anna’s coronation dress, a 6 year old designed dress and lots of other presents 🙂

I’ve made the Mabel and Iris shorts. I haven’t made any top patterns. With the Mabel I used one waistband smaller but with the Iris shorts I redrafted the crotch curve and waistband. I’m with the group: I wash and dry my fabric before cutting and then line dry after sewing. The wash and dry is a just-in-case precaution–because every once in a while something sneaks into the drier. But rayon is a pretty durable fabric, for the most part, so you should be fine with machine washing.

Do you have to make significant changes with the colette patterns?

I just purchased the pdf version to try. It looks like something that could work for the silly season.

I did see the new Colette one, it looks lovely, epically as the straight skirt looks very similar to the Mabel. I would be considering it more if I hadn’t just bought Cashmerette’s Appleton and had fantastic success with minimal changes 🙂
