What a nice surprise!
Congratulations Liesl!
I love the lines of the trench jacket and I really like square necklines! -

I have made jeans and “jorts” with an Ottobre pattern and they fit like commercial jeans… modern styling and cut, came out well in patterned denim, and upholstery-weight twill.
In O+s, I have done the Sketchbook shorts with the front pleats eliminated and the front pocket curved (more horizontal than almost parallel to the seam); those are very…[Read more] -

I think your idea for fully lining this dress would be completely achievable. After popping on and reaquainting myself with Nicole’s tute (and being completely surprised by the way because I was certain she’s lined this one already), I was thinking that if you did the bodice as per normal and make a lining as per the skirt…[Read more]

Thanks, Nicole. I’ve actually perused your tute (love that word!) already, and have made the dress and tunic a few times. I may have to just dive in and make it work for me. The button band may be more complicated with a lining than just getting a skirt lining attached, now that I think of it.

@with-love-heidi Yes!
Black coated denim, navy and light blue. Jeans and shirts is a pretty standard uniform for me. -

Hi @sallycsklarsky, I have been mulling this over for a few days now.
May I point out my tute https://www.pinterest.com/pin/73676143876173067/ ? Have a look at that and I will come back and add how I think a lining may work.
Sorry not to be more help.
xx Nicole

Have a look at Titchy Threads patterns. The Small Fry skinny jeans should tick all your boxes.
I haven’t made them up, but I have made the Twisted Trousers which have pocket with pocket bag coin pocket etc and excellent instructions. I made them in denim and they’ve been great looking jeans.
Based on that pattern, I’m sure the jeans pattern could…[Read more] -

I’d opt for an Ottobre design pattern of you aren’t turned off by tracing and adding seam allowance. They have lots of options in lots of sizes and are well drafted.

Do any of y’all know of a well-teaching child jeans pattern? I’m looking for the classic style, with pockets, watch pocket, yoke, zip fly, belt loops. I know of Jalie, but interested in an indie-pattern…

Has anyone done a full lining to the Puppet Show Dress?
I’m considering using this for Easter this year, but the fabric needs to be lined. Could I attach it similar to the Fairy Tale lining? Or does it work to just sew the skirt lining to bodice lining, and then the the lining is sufficiently attached to the dress when the bodice lining is…[Read more]

I have finally had the chance to get some more done on the second lisette pyjamas for my eldest. Need to finish and send as she’ll need them for the “Valentine’s love in” movie night.
I have some Megan neilsen patterns I want to use too so will be busy sewing over the weekend with these.

What an interesting topic — now I want to go look for denim! I wonder if I can find anything locally.
