  • McStitch has it right. The full-size page should be printed at 100%, no scaling, no “fit-to-page” — no nothing. Exactly as it is.

I have a Rowenta and I hate it. It has leaked almost since day 1. I’m of the opinion that if I pay $100 for an iron, it shouldn’t need “hacks” or coddling to do what I need it to do. The next one I buy will be a gravity feed, which means I’ll be sticking with this damn Rowenta until we get a new home with enough space for such a thing.

    The…[Read more]

He he he, @ellenmcm your mum sounds great! I am of the same opinion as her, but due to my crafting I’ve had to buy one which I use in secret. I feel like I’m selling my soul to the patriarchy every time I brandish it, which makes patchwork a hotbed of internal philosophical conflict and very demoralising 😉

(Love my basic panasonic iron,…[Read more]

I have a Rowenta I use dry with a spray bottle.

When I saw this topic, first I said oh no! Then I laughed, giggled even. Where else on earth does someone post about a dead iron and get sympathy?!

My kids wear interlock at night and our house is about 65f at night.

I have 6 in a clutches in production. I am doing it assembly line style. I love that little bag. I have 4 done and my closest friend wants 10 for gifts.

I’m suddenly feeling holiday pressure. But we’re accelerated because we are going on vacation from 12/15-12/20. Yikes!

  • I would suspect they’re looking at the page size of a page OTHER than the last page. You shouldn’t need to do anything to that pattern sheet except print it as is.
From all reports the ease of printing at a copy shop depends entirely on the staff member who serves you.
    Good luck

  • Oh @jwo what a bummer. The skirt I saw on Instagram was awesome. I’m sure you’ve applied for extensions on work before, right? 😉

  • About a month ago, I was sewing and my needle got stuck and wouldn’t come up. The needle broke in the bobbin mechanism. Thankfully it was an easy fix by the shop.

But I am back in the sewing saddle and cross my fingers I haven’t done anything truly stupid!! :).

Wow. This sounds wonderful. I hope it works out for you.

We’ve gone from a balmy 60 to expecting some light wet snow over a 72 hour period. This is the way of our fall.

Our meeting went well with the principal. Our daughter is being switched after winter break. I’m even more certain after she said some offhand things in the car today. It…[Read more]

We’re currently living in Columbus Ohio having moved here earlier in the year from Australia. While it’s really cold outside the house is very warm and my daughter finds flannelette much too warm, she just doesn’t seem to get cold. We’re going to be in NYC for Xmas too and I’m planning to just pack knit pjs.

New York winters can get COLD — but homes are often heated pretty warmly to make up for it. Can you ask the host? Flannel(ette) or interlock should work fine.
