Although I’m not sewing I’m practising my knitting. I’m learning the continental method and it seems to work much better for me than the regular method.

It would depend on how wide your ribbon is and the look you are going for. And is the contrast trim pattern piece straight? If it is then you should be fine substituting the ribbon.

I don’t think I’ll be sewing for a week or so 🙁 I’ve managed to pull something in my hip on our Christmas camping trip and am on rest and crutches. Maybe later in the week I’ll be able to sit at the table and trace patterns.

I’ve been dreaming about an Oliver and S Moto jacket!

Sewing up a pair of yellow knit sketchbook shorts (size12) with a matching MIP Big Basic Tee (size 10). This boy has gone from being too small for the size 8’s I’ve been making him to fitting into the size 12’s in less than a year! I won’t be able to sew many more Oliver and S patterns for him 🙁

Finishing off the last Star Wars messenger bag! Didn’t do much sewing over the weekend but enjoyed a day at the beach and dinner with our friends 🙂
2 sets of shorts and tees to go as well as Anna’s corronation dress and maybe a skirt for a birthday present. Hopefully it’ll all get done!

I am finally feeling up to serious sewing again (kidney infection that would.not.clear.up; took 4 rounds of antibiotics!), with one week left to Christmas. This year is going to be weird to have so little handmade. However, I have made it my mission to make my daughter her Christmas dress (self-drafted pattern and it FITS!) that I worked on today…[Read more]
