Ok I see where it is now. Sorry, it sounds as though I am ignorant. I have to alter patterns also and it has just become second nature to take any pattern I want to use for myself and go ahead and alter it to fit me. I am convinced now though that trying the Appleton dress pattern woukd actually be kind of a nice chance to see if the many changes…[Read more]

  • Thanks for starting the mash-up challenge, I can’t wait to see what everyone creates! The black and white challenge was a huge success, everyone did a fantastic job!

In early January we will put a linky party up on the blog for the mash-up challenge, closing it February 5th. It will be a nice gathering place for all of the mash-up creations and…[Read more]

Do you have to make significant changes with the colette patterns?

I just purchased the pdf version to try. It looks like something that could work for the silly season.

  • Thanks Brittney, it seems I missed the memo.

  • The boutique sewer program was discontinued earlier this year: http://oliverands.com/about/boutique/

  • I have a question which has sparked since the announcement of our new challenge really.

If we were to sew a mashed up Oliver and s item and we wanted to sell that item, would we need to purchase licenses for all the different patterns we used in order to do that?

And also, what is the general way of doing things with Liesl and co patterns? Are…[Read more]

Squee! I just had an email from Butterick showing the new Lisette pyjama pattern! So excited that it includes a summer version – and just the perfect style too!

Did you see the new colette pattern @withloveHeidi? I saw and thought it would be a great one also (for us pears😉)

I have dabbled with Ottobre patterns when I didn’t have the baby to sew for. I had more luck with my daughter than with my son. My only gripe is the sewam allowances aren’t included on everything. I have some issues but none of the later ones – the bookshelf is getting rather full😉.

Yes, that was my idea but I underestimated how much I’d need. Shoukd have gotten a 2 metre table instead of a 1.5m but there is such a thing as an add on. It is just a matter of getting to IKEA to do it.

The field trip is a pattern I am yet to sew for Chloë but I am looking forward to doing one. She needs basics now but I just can’t help sewing…[Read more]

It is knit mania over here. My mother-in-law is leaving tomorrow after a week’s visit, which has enabled me to do quite a bit of sewing. Tonight I made a wee Field Trip Raglan for the baby, a pair of Playtime leggings for my oldest (size 4 with the length of a 7) and a pair of undies for my second.

Tamara, I’m fortunate to have a long table…[Read more]

I have just had the biggest surprise! My own lively baby, aged nine months has taken it upon herself to stand UNAIDED! If but for about five seconds! I don’t know if I should laugh or cry😱😩 my older babies never bothered doing this until closer to their first birthday😕
