The overlap is at the bottom of the collar – where the two pointed parts meet. I’m not sure how it would work – I wonder about making the collar slightly longer (ie deeper)? You can’t add too much extra fabric into the gathers unless you widen the bit above – ie the bottom of the collar – as the gathered parts pulls sideways in an awkward way. It does for me anyway – but every shape would be different. Hope that makes sense.

I made a ‘wearable’ muslin of the cappuccino the other day – and did a FBA that I thought would be fine as I am very generously endowed as well. But it ended up still too tight across the bust, the gathered part pulls sideways more than it should. So I will try again, but this time I will do a more generous FBA. I also wonder about adding width to the top of the gathered piece and lessening the overlap of the collars so that part is wider. Does that make sense? My fabric was a medium weight cotton so that probably didn’t help either.

Thanks for all of that… I’ll leave it in when I make my muslin one and go from there. 🙂

I’ve just reduced the pattern and made one for a doll…!!

The Late Lunch Tunic is similar in lines to the Tova top. I made my own version of it and took out most of the gathers under the bust. It’s great to wear and super comfortable. This pattern should be similar – and for me I’d take out a lot of the gathers at the back as well. My only worry as how much fabric it says it takes! I wonder how much I could really get it out of? I’d also be willing to try the Weekend Getaway top if I had some light fabric on hand – it should be quite a simple top to wear.

Can I please mention that there are some people in the world (especially in rural areas) who still have dial-up internet connections and having a limit of three attempts is a real risk. I had a lot of trouble once downloading a magazine and nearly lost it because my connection was so slow I didn’t know what download I was up to. Luckily we are now on broadband (still slow – rural). I do back up all my precious files (sewing, farm accounts) on to a ‘cloud’ but have only been able to access that on a broadband connection. Anything faster is a dream!
