This was tasty too http://www.pinterest.com/pin/73676143879794549/ a new…[Read more] -

I’m thinking about starting a new topic here entitled “Stupid things I’ve done while writing/grading/illustrating/formatting oliver + s patterns.” Fortunately, most of them get caught in the process, and if not then, during testing. But there are so many potential pitfalls. You’d all feel like sewing geniuses, comparatively speaking.
Happy…[Read more]

I hear you sewing sister…
Re-cut and sew pockets for a Ice Cream dress, after I attach them realise I cut the pockets from the border fabric and vice versa.Decide not to underline neck yoke, assure myself it will be firm enough, end up up cutting a jigsawing soft interfacing through the openings to add substance.
Go with a size 2T length of a…[Read more]

One Christmas Ice Cream finished, not the smoothest of projects but it is done and the wee miss is pleased.

@justsewit, in regard to pockets with a ‘V’, I don’t 🙂
But thank you! -

I often leave the darts out of the front of my skirts and trousers as I have a round tummy.

I now acknowledge that sewing an Ice Cream dress in a lurex/muslin fabric, as sheer as cobwebs, was possibly not the best idea on a disturbed nights sleep.
I will also be content without the ‘V’ on the pockets and neckline and acknowledge that pockets #2 (that replaced the pockets #1 my machine ate) are still very sweet and Tildy will not notice.
Sigh…. -

Thanks Ladies!
I will have a play after Christmas.
I pretty much live in linen tunics but I don’t like ‘tent-like’ tops. Too dangerous cooking if nothing else.
I liked the way it gave fullness from the bust down. -

Oh no Sarvi, what a pain!
(And I can vouch for your excellent present giving skills)My baby is growing too fast, I just lay her on my bed after changing her and she rolled over and pushed herself up on her hands, in a bulky cloth nappy!
My others have all been ‘late’ babies. Late to roll, crawl or walk. I really hope she is not the exception…..

Wow, @scgoble, that must be tough. I must admit I am not good at getting to bed. I rarely go to bed before 11pm and I am often up at 6am but I do grab a 10 minute Nana nap whenever I can.
I envy those that go to bed and fall asleep quickly, it takes me at least an hour.

Nicole replied to the topic Any idea on how to add a collar to the sleep over pajamas? in the forum oliver + s: sleepover 11 years ago
Very Heath Robinson of me, but I would lay the Music Class front yoke over the Sleepover front. I would place tracing paper over that then re-draft the front with the centre front of then new pattern piece finishing the same width as the Sleepover.
Then I would re-draft the neck of the front facing to match the new neck line, but attach the…[Read more] -

Oh my, so cute!
I would use the Music Class collar and the top yoke to make to front.
Trixie is crying but I will come back and explain further -
