I was about to cut out the playtime dress for my daughter for her birthday next week, when I noticed that the weather is giving us 70 degrees plus for the next couple of weeks… So I think a long-sleeved option is a bad one for me at this point in the year.

Has anyone tried making this is a short sleeved version? Any tips on how to do it?? Don’t want to go with the sleeveless option. Am a little new to knits, so this intimidates me a bit…

I think this technique would work for the Playtime as well: http://oliverands.com/blog/2014/02/customizing-the-raglan-short-sleeves.html

anybody else made a short-sleeved Playtime?

I’m sure there was one made and posted on flicker where they just left off the sleeve pieces and it ended up like a short sleeve . I think it was yellow Heather Ross fabric with unicorns. I’ll see if I can find it.

No it wasn’t yellow, it was green! http://www.flickr.com/photos/greenpip/9692489898/

I made two with the sleeve piece left off in an altered size 12 for my daughter. I have just had a look at my sets and unfortunately I haven’t uploaded pictures of them. It is very easy to do, just leave off the bottom part of the sleeve and then add some binding to finish the armhole. It is roomy enough to fit layers underneath and my daughter says it is also very comfortable.

    Hope this helps.
