ISO Puppet Show Pattern

You lucky girls in the States – we pay $25 +P/H for O+S patterns as standard!!!! $28 is a bit expensive (Australian $$’s) I know but I guess it depends on how desperate you are for the pattern – unfortunately the exchange rate is not working in your favour though at the moment 🙁 – on the subject of how expensive sewing things are here to buy – City Weekend has just been listed at one of my fav Oz online store for $44/m!!!!! Most quality fabrics here retail at around $25/m!!!
14 years ago LINKJohannaO @JohannaOJimminy Christmas. That’s expensive. My husband and I were blown away with the expense of Australian clothing while we were there. We packed enough for a week, and contemplated buying clothes there to last us a couple of days there so we didn’t have to find a laundromat. One trip through a department store, and we changed our mind. I just made a dress for myself from $1/yard fabric (needed 2 yards), with a 1/2 price zipper ($1) and a Black Friday Pattern ($1). My total investment in materials for this dress $4. And now I’ll go back to counting my blessings.
14 years ago LINKbadskirt @badskirtOn behalf of the Australian retailers, rest assured they aren’t gouging you are $28.
Without getting into the math behind it, that’s exactly in line with what we pay for them. Those of us who squeak them by at $24 (or $20 as I am for the next couple of weeks) aren’t really making much profit, particularly when you consider the cost of carrying stock and general overhead.
Those City Weekend prices are out of line though, if you are talking about the quilting cottons. Maybe they paid more to have them express posted over from the states? I’d expect to see them at $22-26. Knits will definitely be higher though.
14 years ago LINKJustine J @justmejayI was trying to stick up for Australian retailers!!! I just wanted to point out that that’s the norm for O+S prices here – I’ve met Jane (BeBe Japanese Textiles) and she’s lovely – I do usually try to buy from Oz reatailers, but sometimes the US prices are way too tempting!
As for the price of the City Weekend – I keep thinking she’s listed it incorrectly! Maybe should be $22/m instead of 0.5m?!
14 years ago LINKeblythebrown @eblythebrownI knew Australian prices were high…I just hope your incomes reflect those inflated prices! I have looked and looked and cant find the puppet show pattern anywhere…nobody wants to gives theres up, eh? I’ll send it back when Im done?!!!!!
14 years ago LINKAdaircam @AdaircamThe Puppet Show pattern in a 4T is listed on the web site http://www.FarmhouseFabrics.com. I think they are mostly an Internet store so it’s probably available.
Good luck!

14 years ago LINKeblythebrown @eblythebrownThank you Sarah, the problem is…that they say they have it, but once I order it they get back to me to tell me its out of stock..I am going to try them though!
14 years ago LINKJustine J @justmejayPhew! I just emailed the seller with the expensive list price for City Weekend – so glad I did! She’d listed it incorrectly – it’s $22/m as opposed to $22/0.5m!
Keep us updated about your pattern search, eblythebrown!
14 years ago LINKeblythebrown @eblythebrownSo I ordered the pattern from farmhouse fabrics and have yet to hear back from them that they are out of stock…and its been 6 hours…could be that they had gone home for the night…we’ll see tomorrow. I’ll let you know! And by the way, my name is Emily!!!
14 years ago LINKJustine J @justmejayHi Emily – I’m Justine!
14 years ago LINKAdaircam @AdaircamMorning Emily!
Perhaps you could call Farmhouse Fabrics to see if the pattern is actually in stock. They have been very helpful when I’ve talked to them. Also I noticed a size 4 Puppet Show pattern at this site (but don’t have as much experience with their availability):
http://www.SewingBasketInc.com
I don’t have the pattern either because the size range is too small for the kids I sew for or I would send it to you.

14 years ago LINKeblythebrown @eblythebrownLadies, this thread may officially be closed…I received my oh so wanted Puppet show pattern in the mail today after a VERY good suggestion from Sarah to try Farmhouse Fabrics in South Carolina! Thanks for all the help!
13 years ago LINKjill @jillI am searching with no luck for this pattern in the 2-5T size. If anyone knows of a store or has an old pattern that they no longer need, Pleas, please let me know.
Thanks!
