It’s always an adventure to send out a new pattern for testing! When I do this I’m looking for mistakes, areas that need clarification, and anything else that I might have missed. And our testers are great! It’s always funny to me that each person catches something different. Shelley told me she thinks I intentionally hide errors in the patterns, but I swear I don’t. (But if I did, I’m certain she would catch them! She’s a really good tester.)
It’s also so much fun to see how each tester makes the style her own. Each fabric choice, styling decision, and personality adds something, and when the photos come back it’s a delight to see the results. The Chacarita Wrap Dress was no exception. Take a look at some of the testing results!
Maria was testing the longer sleeves for me, which is why they’re in black on the photo below. But she took them off after testing and sent photos with the short sleeves as well, which is how she preferred this dress. And the lemon print definitely wants short sleeves, to be fair…
Isn’t this fun? Two pretty young ladies in two very different versions of the same dress. (Their mothers were my testers, sewing for their daughters.)
I love each one of these photos, how the dress looks different on each person and in each fabric. I hope they’re helpful to you, too. Maybe they’ll inspire you or help you to choose a fabric for your version.
You can pick up your own copy of the Chacarita Wrap Dress in paper or digital format. As always, we hope you’ll tag us #lieslandco and #chacaritawrapdress so we can see what you make with it and how you wear it. I’ll be looking forward to seeing what you make!
