our big 10th anniversary sale: 10 patterns for $50

It’s our 10th anniversary, and we just released our 50th Oliver + S pattern. So we decided to have a sale to celebrate both these milestones!

For the remainder of our two-week anniversary celebration, through March 24, you can get 10 Oliver + S paper patterns for only $50. It’s an excuse to fill in your collection with those styles you don’t yet have or to increase your collection for sewing future projects.

Anniversary pattern sale

Here’s how the sale works. Head over to the Oliver + S paper patterns section of the shop and start adding items to your shopping bag. They will appear in your bag at their regular price. But as soon as the number of Oliver + S paper patterns in your bag hits 10, the pricing will automatically update and you’ll have the 10 patterns for $50. And if you want to purchase more than 10? Feel free. The special pricing will extend to any patterns beyond the initial 10 required for the discount to kick in.

There are a few notes. The special pricing is only valid on Oliver + S patterns (we’re celebrating the Oliver + S anniversary here!) and it’s only good on paper patterns–not digital. Why is this? Two reasons. First, when I started Oliver + S 10 years ago, no one was making digital patterns; everything was printed on paper and we want to help some of you regular digital pattern buyers remember the luxury of working with a physical, printed pattern. (Not to mention the lovely quality of our paper and packaging!) And, to be perfectly honest, these days 75% of our website orders are for digital patterns. As a result, we find ourselves sitting on a large volume of older paper patterns, which costs us a lot of money to store. We’re hoping that you’ll take this opportunity to save while helping us to reduce our stock.

So go shopping, and pick up those Oliver + S paper patterns you’ve wanted to add to your collection but haven’t yet. This is our special anniversary treat to you!

  1. Ah, I wish this was for digital patterns as well!

    1. Of course, Asmita, but right now we’re doing our best to reduce our paper stock, which has accumulated over the years and costs us a lot to store. We have digital sales at other times, but this is a sale with a particular purpose in mind. And even with international shipping this is still a significant savings over our list price. xo

      1. Yes, of course! I couldn’t agree more–this is such a fantastic deal, Liesl. And I am seriously contemplating it, because I so love your paper patterns. Even the earliest ones despite multiple uses are still in near perfect shape. I am just a little bit jealous of those living in the U.S. 🙂

I prefer the paper patterns, so thank you!

Congratulations on your 10th Anniversary! What a wonderful achievement for you and your family. I love that you still sell paper patterns and I hope you don’t stop. I have made a couple of attempts, but after 25 years of sewing I just can’t get on board with PDFs, there’s just nothing about them I like. I guess I’m just behind the times. I really look forward to seeing what you have coming up for Spring/Summer 2018.

    1. Thanks very much, Penny. I love the paper patterns too and hope we can continue to produce them.

  3. I too prefer paper patterns- I spent 30 minutes trimming pages for a digital pattern last night – no fun! Thank you so much for this special sale- it made me evaluate everything I have and I am thrilled to add to my collection at such a great price! I love your patterns and it has helped me really enjoy sewing clothes for my daughter- something I never thought i could do until I came across your patterns.

    1. That’s wonderful to hear, Laurie! Thanks very much.

  4. Reeni

Yay, i think i may have a nice gift idea! Sharing my craft obsession with others is a pleasure with o+s… also a good opportunity to help you clean house but add to mine. (Uh, oops.)

    1. Thank you, Reeni! That’s a really generous way to help us spread the word, and we appreciate your support! xo

  5. Brenda

Congratulations on 10 years of terrific children’s patterns! What a generous sale! Even though I generally prefer pdf, your paper patterns are something special. Especially the older ones with the paper doll card stock sleeve. But as I’ve been a die-hard Oliver & S fan from the beginning , I can’t come up with 10 patterns that I don’t have. 5 maybe…. I think you’ll find that true for all your most loyal, long-time fans. I realize and can appreciate though that you’re trying move lots of inventory quickly.

    1. Brenda, I’ve noticed a few people on the Facebook group splitting an order.

      1. Brenda

        Great idea, Liesl! Thanks!

  6. Pqtn

This is such a great sale. But, alas, so many of the patterns I don’t have yet, and would love to buy, are no longer in paper format! Try as I might, I can only come up with 8 paper patterns to buy. I hope that means that your sale is working. Congrats on 10 years and here’s hoping for another great 10 years (at least).

    1. Thanks for your kind words! And here’s an idea to fill out your basket: a lot of people have been filling out their order with gifts to help spread the word. xo

  7. Lisa

Thanks for the sale! Came at a great time as my daughter is transitioning into the larger sizes! I’ve always bought PDF but looking forward to having some paper patterns from O+S!

    1. I hope you’ll enjoy them, Lisa!

  8. Joyce Montgomery

Any idea how the shipping would go to Australia??? Would love to own all the paper patterns but am assuming the cost would not allow for me to participate in this sale

    1. Joyce, actually even with international shipping the all-in cost works out to be a significant savings for you. Put the patterns you want in your shopping bag, and then on the shopping bag page use the estimate shipping link at the bottom right to see what the shipping and handling charge will be for you.

    2. Nicole

Joyce, I chose the 3-5 week shipping option and it came in under $100, AUD.

  9. Marcella

Love your patterns in both pdf and paper format. Have tried to order 10 patterns in the larger size that I don’t have, but most are out of stock already. Facebook swaps sadly wont work as I’m in Ireland.

Any chance you will be dropping the number of patterns needing to be bought as stock shifts??

Congratulations on your 10 year anniversary. Your kids book of patterns has been much loved in this house – a large irish family with 6 children!

    1. I’m so sorry it won’t work out for you! We decided on 10 for 50 because it’s our 10th anniversary and we’ve produced 50 Oliver + S patterns. But I’m really glad you’ve enjoyed our patterns.

  10. Amanda Correa

Happy Anniversary! What an achievement! And WHAT A SALE! I don’t recall ever seeing one like this! I happily loaded my cart both with patterns I can make for my one year old now and in just a few years when she’s bigger. My 16 year old also wanted the Girl On the Go pattern…so happy to oblige her! She is now capable of doing much pattern sewing herself! I wish I had endless hours to sew each day, but I’ve had to accept my time is limited with three big kids homeschooling. But summer is coming! 🙂 These new patterns plus the many others I already own will keep me very occupied! I still have many yards of Woodland Clearing fabric calling out to me from my sewing room. 🙂 So happy for you and also very thankful you share your talent with us!

  11. Deepa

Thank you, Liesl and the O&S team ! I much prefer paper patterns to digital, and my daughter has just moved into the 5-12 range. This sale was just the excuse I needed to stock up on some of your classics.
