While Liesl is traveling the United States for her road trip book tour, we’re going to be doing a few Sew + Tell posts on Fridays in place of her weekend links. For this edition of Sew + Tell we have Nadina who changed up the Lisette B6169 pattern by adding lots of beautiful machine embroidery! Here’s Nadina.

Pattern used: Lisette for Butterick B6169 Moto Jacket
Fabric used: Faux suede from Mood (don’t know the brand)
For the finished look, yes. There were some challenges in ironing it. But, it worked great for the embroidery.
How did the sewing go?
It went better than I had anticipated. I am not experienced at making jackets (I have mostly made tops for myself). The lining was the biggest challenge for me, but that was because of my own inexperience. I followed the sew along method instead of the written instructions for the lining. I love the princess seams.
What was the best part?
I love the lapels. They are the reason the contrasting fabrics work. They also provided a great spot for additional embroidery.
The jacket is great, beautiful. I want the jacket . But I’ll settle for pattern & designs-guess I can. Purchase my fabric , anxious to find out where to get pattern- designs.
What beautiful embroidery! Where did you get the designs, please?
Thank you. 🙂
The link for the jacket pattern is above.
For the embroidery, I used several resources:
The designs on the lapels are from Urban Threads, Elven Court Dragonfly Casade http://www.urbanthreads.com/products.aspx?productid=UT6394
The design on the back is from BFC Creations, BCF 1366 Chin Chou Dragonflies.

The small designs on right sleeve are from Embroidery Library, Dragonfly 1 (Blackwork)

The design on the left sleeve is from Hatched in Africa,
