easter sewing round up

The Oliver + S Flickr group has been bursting with your beautiful Easter sewing lately, and Liesl and I wanted to feature some of our favorites today.  It feels so good to throw winter aside and sew in springy colors and light fabrics again, doesn’t it?

fairy tale dress, art museum vest and sketchbook shorts

We’ll start with this adorable sibling duo.  Big sis wears a Fairy Tale Dress and little brother wears an Art Museum Vest and Sketchbook Shorts (such a great pairing and so cute in seersucker!).  You can read more about the dress here and the little guy’s outfit here, sewn by Jessica.

Next up is this little sweetie in a cheery yellow eyelet Bubble Dress!  Sewn by Flickr user Terri.

classic looks

Easter is a great time to sew with pink!  The little lady on the left is in a ruffly Fairy Tale Dress by Sharon, and the little cutie on the right is in a pink eyelet Family Reunion Dress with colorblocking by Jenny.

A classic trio of gorgeous heirloom dresses by a grandmother for her granddaughters, these three beauties were sewn by flickr user Donna Haskins and include variations on the Garden Party and Fairy Tale patterns, including smocking, pintucks, and a satin ribbon sash. Such amazing detail!

hide and seeks

The Hide-And-Seek Dress displays its easy-to-wear versatility, as Lucinda shows on the left with beautiful handstitching (more about that here), and Kelly shows on the right with gorgeous Liberty lawn and chambray yokes.

fairy tale dresses

And finally, more Fairy Tale Dresses!  It’s a fancy dress for a fancy occasion.  On the left is a pretty eyelet version with fuscia accents by Ashley, and on the right is a lovely floral version by Brittany.

Really wonderful sewing, everyone!

I love so many of these outfits, and I am a huge fan of the eyelet fabric that has been used. I can never find such beautiful colours, I might have to give dying a go!

  3. Jenny

I was so excited to be included. Thank you.
