Found it! I meant Butteick, which are on sale right now on the website:

Why on earth won’t my link appear? Whatever, google butterick 3351.
It doesn’t have that princess pointy waist, but it has the wrap around sleeve concept, whatever that may be called. And the pointy waist is a…[Read more]

Wow, that reminds me of a prom dress I begged my mom to make for me in 1992. It also reminds me of the dress belle wears in beauty and the beast, which was my favorite of all the Disney dresses until Elsa.
It’s a slightly dated style, but you might be able to find something similar. It’s not a cape let at all but part of the sleeve. I feel like I…[Read more]

Cotton lawn would be a great choice. It’s very nice to wear, presses well, and is easy to sew. Depending on the color and print, it may be opaque or it may be a bit sheer. If it is sheer, you can line the dress pretty easily. I’m sure somebody here can talk you through it when you get to that part, if it becomes an issue.

Hello!
I am doing a little fabric shopping for the Music Box Jumper… What do you think, would cotton lawn be an appropriate choice or would it be too thin? I am very much a beginner at garment making, if that helps.
Thank you!

It’s a really low-res image so I can’t make it out very well. If it’s attached is it like an oversized Peter Pan collar?
For a capelet you could modify the Red Riding Hood cape from Little Things To Sew. Just leave the hood off and shorten it. If you take a little off the front panels so they don’t overlap then you could have a ribbon tie at the…[Read more] -

Hmmmm, I would probable search for capelet, bolero, and shrug just to see what I could find.

Hello, I will be sewing my daughter’s First Communion dress this spring. She fell in love with one that has an attached small capelet/shrug that goes all around the dress, about 5 inches tall and covers her shoulders. I don’t know what this is called in order to search for a pattern! Can anyone help? My description isn’t very good, but here is…[Read more]

I’ve done a pair of navy shorts up to the zipper and I have some brown one cut ready to sew. Now I need to waste an hour going to get zips. I’m fairly sure I’ll get these two done, I’m not sure if I’ll get any more though. I think two will get me through 🙂

In answer to your question Nicole, the biggies need everything! Miss Chloe just needs a few pretties in the 3-6 month size so they are ready but much more in the next size again – slow progress sewing.
It makes it very difficult when you have a little boy one minute then you see him literally growing in his sleep the next – my mother infuriated…[Read more]

@dubhels2003 I think she has a list she keeps and works from when she’s going to do one. I’ve already passed on the question to her.
