The one consistent request from our oldest niece is a RAINCOAT. She has mentioned it for months and now we are tickled that we have the fabric in hand and are ready to hit the ground
runningsewing! We are really wanting to use hot pink {red might even be okay} toggles. Does anyone have a good source for a set of these in a substance that wouldn’t crack? -

Heirloom Sewing and Embroidery 10 years agoWhen I try copy and paste for a link, it won’t even paste. If I open a word doc and paste it into the doc, it works, but if I try and paste in this, it doesn’t work at all.
For the admin’s info. I am on a Mac (Yosemite), using Chrome. I thought it was just me being inept that was having problems so I didn’t mention it to anyone.

Yes, that’s the one.

Heirloom Sewing and Embroidery 10 years agoIs this the one you are referring to, @Deb ? I’m trying it with the link button {above} first, and then copy/pasting a second time in case the 1st doesn’t work….

Tamara replied to the topic What are you sewing now? in the forum off topic 10 years ago
I finished the pants yesterday and have been working on the bodysuit – only sleeves, sides seams and the bottom part to go. Oh and poppers!
Next I aim to trace bigger sized patterns ready.

Cooking and Baking 10 years agoI’ve never learned to love eggplant – maybe I should give it a try again.
I’m stuck on the quinoa. It’s so good, I’ve had it for lunch all last week and this week. I make a batch on Sunday night, divide it into 4 jars and top up with chicken, fish or beef. Perfect for lunch.
I use this recipe: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TnmjmHUUxsY (the…[Read more]

Cooking and Baking 10 years agoTonight, http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/24751/classic+moussaka, as I was given 3 beautiful glossy egg plants.
I added extra garlic, salt and pepper as well as salting my egg plant before cooking it. -

If you are doing sleeveless, you need to google threads magazine quick linings and read the sleeves dress part. It’s so fast and easy and professional you won’t believe it.

meleliza replied to the topic Fit on Sunday Brunch in the forum oliver + s: sunday brunch 10 years ago
I have found the fit forgiving or roomy. I have also found that sizing up too much on this one looks sloppy. The gathers make it especially good for those adorable buda bellies and the cuffs are a fantastic growth room detail. I’ve been able to layer thin sweaters underneath, like a cardi, but it’s not a coat as Liesl says.
I’m just thinking…[Read more]

I found the fit on this one to be pretty generous. I made a lengthened size 2 and it way too short but still fit otherwise when she was 4. She’s skinny, but still. I love this pattern- hope you can make it work for your girl!

Heirloom Sewing and Embroidery 10 years agoI feel a bit of a fraud here 🙂 I was heavily into smocking and embroidery in the late 90’s and early 00’s but my style has changed somewhat.
My claim to fame is I grew up in the town that Country Bumpkin was started and went to school with Margie Bauer and Lib Rayner’s daughters (the clever sisters who’s started A S&E).Hugo (18) had smocked…[Read more]
