Any special techniques I should know about making buttonholes for uniquely shaped buttons? I am planning to make bedtime pjs for this fall with these moon shaped pearly type buttons.

I wonder if this might be more of what you’re looking for. 🙂

I’d love a women’s version of the Sketchbook shirt and the Parachute Polo, with the collar the right size (not two inches too long). I’d like both short and long sleeves.

Haha, that’s so cute! Todd & Co, or the Big 4 version, Tedette…

rebecca started the topic ISO patterns for men's button-up shirts AND jeans [both high-end, w/detail] in the forum off topic 10 years ago
Can y’all suggest some good quality patterns for men’s button-ups (that use stand-collar), and a high-end pattern for jeans (with high-end details)?
Thank you!!

Thanks, I looked at the link, but it seems to still ease it in. I need to figure out how to get it for a super large bust, and maybe add a dart?

I glad to hear it fit well other than length Susan, it’s my second favorite O+S pattern and my most used O+S pattern. (Well most used pattern of mine that I own too!) My two middle boys just requested some new ones for fall. Sadly my oldest out grew this pattern a few years ago. I would love for Lisel to make a men’s size one.

I would really like to see some men’s patterns…specifically a basic but classic button-up. Any plans to expand into patterns for the “Todd” in our lives? hehe

@liesl Hello, I would like to make some of your Lazy Day skirts to donate. Do you have a standard sizing guide I could follow for waist sizes and length? I imagine I will make skirts for girls ages 5-12.

How nice that you’re going to do that! I’d suggest referring to our measurement chart for waist sizes. If you have some of our other skirt patterns they might be helpful for lengths, but children vary so much in height at each age that it might be a good idea to make some longer and some shorter skirt. It’s tricky when you don’t know the sizes of…[Read more]

Oh poor sweetie! If it makes you feel good then that is all that matters, that’s what I say.
@lightningmcstitch stability is the word! They stretch in the shop though😖! Oh well. I will have a good look at the ottobre ribbing you suggest. The one thing I absolutely crave is good quality. Everything else can look the other way!

I made a hopscotch and my daughter wore it to school. She was sad that no one told her it was pretty. I said not everyone can be a winner. Lol.

Right on, @lightningmcstitch! The drape is important for this one. The fabric can be relatively thick as long as it’s not too stiff. @Ginger, I’d suggest going to a fabric store and looking at the coatings section so you can see the type of fabric we’ve recommended for this pattern. That way you’ll know what to look for when you shop your stash!

The pattern would definitely benefit from a note about how to lengthen for older kids. I had my son try the shirt on again this morning and the whole thing actually fits very well except for length, so I’ve decided I don’t need to retrace the pattern (whew), just add a good 3″ to the front and back. I’m hoping to do that tonight. Usually my second…[Read more]

I think Mama Knowles has it spot on. For a younger child, the shorter hemline is great. Beyond that, I have added length for tucking in…even if they chose not to tuck. A cropped shirt on an 8 or 12 year old just doesn’t pull off “cute” the same way it does for little ones. I don’t think the pattern necessarily needs revision, but perhaps just a…[Read more]
