Tunic and dress sizes are determined by the chest measurements(unless tightly fitted), so go with those and alter if necessary. Tiny sizes, my daughter was a 0 until age 25, I even used some kids patterns for her and she shopped in kids sections in some stores. I think the only adult patterns I used in that size range were for leggings, tees, and…[Read more]

We are “teaching” a sewing class. We say teaching very loosely since Liesl will really be doing the teaching :). Two of the girls have selected the Gallery Tunic / Dress to sew and are both measuring size 0, however their hips are only 31″ and 33″. Should we make adjustments and if so, what would be the best method to accomplish this? Also, we…[Read more]

Looking forward to seeing your photos!
I’ve just traced and cut out the pattern for the birthday party dress, size 3. This is my first time using this pattern. I found some mustangs in mustard from cotton and steel in my stash which I plan to use for the dress with some matching navy. Fortunately I realized it was from a quilting friend it hasn’t…[Read more] -

Thanks for all the tips and suggestions! Unfortunately the baptism was postponed due to a nasty stomach bug taking out their entire house (except for the little guy, gotta love those mama’s milk immunities!). It might not happen till May now so I’m going to wait a little and see how much he grows. I am still making him a pair of sailboat pants as…[Read more]

Hello all!
I posted a photo of the pattern shopping cards I created to match the Lisette fabric swatch cards. I have received a few requests to share and Rachel kindly suggested that I post them here. These are not a complete set of all Oliver + S patterns but several that I plan to use this year. Hope this is helpful.
Happy Sewing!! -

Thanks for the ideas! How would I make those pockets? I’ve only made side seam pockets before.

You could easily use the Women’s Metro T-shirt pattern from Liesl and Co. Especially with the tunic you already purchased, you can measure where to cut the shirt pattern to make the skirt. This tutorial should help, just make the skirt portion longer: http://oliverands.com/community/blog/2014/02/customizing-the-raglan-peplum-ruffle.html

@dubhels2003 do you really think I get alot done? Well probably for someone with three kids it is true but personally all my projects are in danger of ending up in the unfinished basket.
I didn’t get to the white hide and seek tunic or the other butterfly blouse so these will have to wait.
The comino cap dress (Kitschy coo) is literally a five…[Read more]

@justsewit I can’t believe how much you get sewed! @thejennigirl I hope you managed to crack into some WIPs. The only way I seem to get mine finished is if I also ‘treat’ myself with something new!
I’ve got a second swingset skirt ready to sew, and have cut out a playtime dress in a seersucker that I really love. I still haven’t started sewing…[Read more]
