Reeni replied to the topic just a note: it works without the back opening! in the forum oliver + s: 2 + 2 9 years ago
Yes, the caveat being that it’s a size 6! I forgot to add that I also cut the neck opening just a bit wider — on the sewing line vs the cutting line, both front and back. It was worth it because there’s no more of this fabric… pretty sure it’s from when i was in high school or early college 27 years ago or so!

I like them both, but the stirred tankini is my favorite.

@markjebobarrhotmail-com aren’t they fabulous?! It is such a nice surprise to have not one but two choices also. Are you planning to use both styles or just one? I have both on my list as I can see these being very well used.

@dubhels2003 Thankyou! She is very “into” what I do and very much a helper. I will eventually make the blouse. I have cut a denim music class skirt which I intend to sew along with a pair of afterschool pants (also denim) and a button up skirt and pair of jeans for my eldest. The shirt will come after as I am spending much of the holidays sorting…[Read more]

@madtownmama Isn’t it great? I’m making another before my daughter outgrows the pattern 🙂
@justsewit I loved the pic of Chloe helping with the tracing! I can’t wait to see your music class outfit – are you doing both blouse and skirt?
I’m going to sew tonight, whoopee!! Going to finish layette trousers which shouldn’t take long, I hope!…[Read more]

I didn’t trace the skirt pattern in the end but I did finish two field trip t shirts. I left the pockets off for these ones and used the coverstitch machine around the neckline just to try it out. The result gives them more of a pullover type look. They are the perfect size so no need to size up just yet.
Next project will be the button up skirt.

Finally got started with the t shirts today after a few non sewing days. I completely mucked up the neckline of the first Jalie raglan t shirt. I do not like the instructions for the binding at. all! Instead for the second one I did it the normal way and gained a much better result. It’s actually wearable and everything is approved by the…[Read more]

I made a body suit from the Lullaby Layette for my new baby niece, who is three weeks old today! I made the 3-6mo size anticipating that she can wear it over the summer (they live in Boston area). This was my first time doing a placket on my own and my first time using the snap setter tool. There is definitely a learning curve for me lol, and I’m…[Read more]
