What are you sewing now?

I did the placket last night, seriously easy with Liesl’s amazing instructions 🙂 I’m hoping the collar goes on just as easily. This may become my new favorite pattern 🙂
9 years ago LINKTamara @justsewitToday I traced off the carousel dress and hide and seek patterns in 6-12 month size. I plan to do some assembly line sewing.
9 years ago LINKwith love Heidi @with love HeidiAfter taking my niece the side opening parachute pants and showing her how they work, she requested some “night pants”, pajama pants, as “I will have to wear my casts all the time”. She requested them by tomorrow as that’s when she getting her casts. So I will put aside her birthday dress and make more pants 🙂
9 years ago LINKNicole @motherof5You are kind Heidi.
Just finishing off a Music Class blouse in Liberty for Matilda.
9 years ago LINKTamara @justsewitIn the Capel Nicole? Is your blue capel blue on blue or does it have white in it like the pink looks to have? There seems to be alot of colourways of this print.
I was interrupted in tracing the hide and seek pattern so am yet to return to it which I what I plan to do in the next few minutes. And then I plan to get the pleater out. But that might as far as I get tonight.
There needs to be an awesome Aunty Heidi day!
9 years ago LINKLightning McStitch @LightningMcStitchFinally coming up for air after finishing a Metro long sleeved t-shirt for my husband’s birthday tomorrow. I gave myself a week of late nights by deciding to cross stitch the complete Galactica Space Invaders arcade game from the 80’s across the front! Pics soon I hope. Sleep first!!
9 years ago LINKI am really looking forward to seeing that tee, Shelley!
I couldn’t sleep last night so I ran back downstairs to make myself a nursing sleep tank. That brings my count to two sleep bras, two nighties and a tank. I think I’m probably set for nursing sleepwear now …
9 years ago LINKwith love Heidi @with love HeidiThat tee sounds fantastic! Looking forward to seeing it.
9 years ago LINKwith love Heidi @with love HeidiJust finished the PJ side opening parachute pants before dinner, now onto the blue school uniform ones for tomorrow morning!
I thought I had an extra day before she went back to school but fortunately she is able to go back earlier than we initally thought 🙂9 years ago LINKwith love Heidi @with love HeidiJust realised I’ve now modified all 4 pieces of the parachute pants. I added extra width to the hem to fit over the casts at the ankle better. I already made the waistband 2 pieces and changed the stripe into an overlap 🙂
9 years ago LINKTamara @justsewitChloe’s going through another growth phase and isn’t sleeping too brilliantly. So as a result my sewing time is suffering slightly.
I have managed to use the overlocker to finish the edges of the Teaparty dress and the carousel dress I have cut out – both pink. The aim is to pleat the carousel and sit and do some smocking and embroidery either whilst she is on the mat playing or during the little spurts of sleeptime – mind you they are exhausting and the last thing I want to seem to do is sew.
I have lots of unfinished projects at different stages so am using the time to be able to complete them bit by bit. And in alot of cases I am endeavouring the assembly line.
9 years ago LINKEllenMCM @EllenMCMI started a pair of Field Trip cargos this weekend – the fiddle bits on the pockets and the faux fly slow me down sometimes, but I powered through and finished on Monday. My husband emailed me at work to let me know that DS hunted hem down to wear this morning. He asked if they should go through the wash first, and she said, “the only thing on them is a few marks from the sewing process and THAT’S not a reason not to wear them!” I will get a picture as soon as I can.
Today, I’m starting the messenger bag. I’m still waiting on the strap adjusters and a walking foot, but I’m going to cut and see how far I can sew without them. I might have to make some cake first, though.
9 years ago LINKMade my son a pair of swim trunks using the Sunny Day shorts pattern yesterday. Tonight I will cut out another Cosi swimsuit for my oldest girl with plans to sew it up tomorrow.
9 years ago LINKNicole @motherof5I made a Carousel dress for Liddy (11),today.
I used sand coloured velvet/uncut cord (not sure what it is) with red topstitching. It has quite a medieval feel to it.
9 years ago LINKHarmony @HarmonyI sewed up two pairs of City Gym shorts for summer pjs.
Then I attempted to sew a pair of Sunny Day shorts with added length in a lovely dark blue linen, only to find when I sewed the first section together that I had drafted two fronts. 🙁
I’m no longer allowed to draft patterns after 10:00. 🙂
