    @cybele I hope that grieving so close to this holiday will be somehow spiritually reviving and comforting. My daughter’s first birthday was the day after my grandfather’s funeral. It was enormously helpful to connect death with new life in that way.

    that’s a wonderful poem! He’s got it right.

    My MIL took my kid out for an Easter egg hunt and there was a rock climbing wall (very traditional Easter activity, I’m sure) and since her dad has started climbing and she’s seen his gear, I gather it piqued her interest. Very cute, climbing in lace-edged socks with a harness strapped around her Bubble dress (with little knit shorts underneath). And they say kids can’t play in dressy clothes.
