two Cannes Trousers, two drapey fabrics

What are you sewing these days? I’ve been squeezing in a little personal sewing here and there, and when I finished these Cannes Trousers just before my trip I couldn’t wait to share them with you!

The khaki pair are made from this viscose blend fabric that I knew would be perfect. Drapey, in a soft sand color, it will work really well with the rest of my wardrobe in terms of color and fabric. I’ve already worn them several times and love them!

I also made a pair from this white viscose blend twill, and because of the stretch in the fabric they fit a bit more generously. I’m  really enjoying wearing these as well.

I made both pairs exactly according to the pattern but did my usual trick to reduce the width of the legs by a few inches. And that’s it! Both pairs work really well with almost everything in my wardrobe, honestly, and I love wearing them with the black Lisette for Butterick 6901 vest in the photo above, which is a quick and easy sew. I may still make another vest in white this summer, too.

These trousers are surprisingly quick to make, and I really like that I can make them exactly to my preference in terms of color, fabric, width, and length. Between these two pairs and the black lightweight wool pair I’ve been wearing non-stop since I made them last year, I feel like I’m completely covered for trousers for a while. You’ll be seeing these a lot in the future…

The pattern is Cannes Wide-Legged Trousers, available in paper or in digital format. This pattern is one of my absolute favorites right now, and I hope it will be for you, too!
