Our testers always do such a nice job helping to be sure our patterns are ready for release, and since we know you like to see their fabrics and results, here are some photos they took of our newest pattern the Prado Trench Coat! You can read my introduction to this pattern right here.
Erica used a cotton-blend twill that has a little bit of stretch, and she tested View B. Here’s what she had to say about the pattern:
This trench style is what I have come to expect from Liesl + Co patterns–the core wardrobe pieces but with some interesting details.
Daisy used a 10-ounce denim for View A. I love how crisp the back pleat on her cape turned out, and we included some stitching in the instructions specifically to help you get this effect.
Sarah sewed View A for her daughter and chose this pretty blue light-mid weight 58” 100% nylon jacket with a ribbed texture. She decided to bias bind the seams, which looks so nice, doesn’t it? You could also use French seams for this style, or just finish them with a serger if you want.
Jeanne chose 4oz. Midnight Blue 4-Ply Water Repellent Nylon Taslan from Mood Fabrics for View A. The buttons are a nice contrast here, aren’t they?
And Kari used a home dec canvas she found at Ikea for her View B, which she wears without the belt. The fabric has Marimekko vibes, doesn’t it?
And don’t go away yet, because I haven’t shown you Sue’s View A, which of course she styled beautifully and in multiple ways.
Excited to try this one for yourself? I hope so! You can pick up a copy of the Prado Trench Coat, which is available in digital format only at this time right here. I hope you’ll tag us with #pradotrench and #lieslandco so we can see what you make. I can’t wait to see how yours turns out!
