how to finish the rush hour dress armhole

Hello friends!

The method I used for sewing the sleeveless armhole on the Liesl + Co. Rush Hour Dress will give you a beautifully finished result. The only problem is that the method seems a little counter-intuitive when you read it, and because it’s not a method that’s commonly used it might not be perfectly clear for everyone with only the text and illustrations.

So to help you understand how to to do this, we shot a quick video to demonstrate the whole process. If you’re sewing the sleeveless Rush Hour Dress you might want to watch this. In this video I demonstrate how to sew the armholes using a really fast method that doesn’t involve any hand stitching. I think you’ll like it once you get the hang of it.

See. Easy and clean, right?

Thanks so much for the video demo- it makes it really easy how to see how it’s done.

This is a very clear tutorial and a great example of when photos in a sew-along can’t quite offer as much as a video. Thanks, Liesl! Also, I’m glad I’m not the only one on my hands and knees on the ground when I sew.

  3. You had me at no hand sewing! Love this way of doing all lined sleeves.
