One thing we really love to see is people taking Liesl’s patterns and customizing them a bit. That’s exactly what Constança did with her beautiful Lisette B6182 boxy top. You’ll see how by simply adding two different crochet trims, it can make something so pretty!

Pattern: Lisette B6182
Fabric: Two yards of white cotton lawn leftover from making my son’s christening gown. I also used two different crochet trims I bought the last time I was in Portugal.
Did the fabric work well?
Yes, it did. I was envisioning a modern heirloom-inspired top and my first choice of fabric would have been white handkerchief linen, but I was unable to find any locally. The cotton lawn is very lightweight, pressed well and was perfect for French seams.
How did the sewing go?
Very well. I sized down (my measurements put me into a size 16 but this is a 14) and used French seams throughout. The sleeves were a bit fiddly because I used a wide crochet trim instead of the provided sleeve bands. I ended up having to shave off the seam allowance on the sleeves in order to stitch the trim. I also lengthened the top by 4 inches and simply zigzagged the bottom trim in place, butting the fabric and the trim together (no hemming required). Oh and I also lowered the bust dart by 1/2”.
What was the best part?
I love all the details in this top. It’s elaborate yet not too fussy. It feels elegant and fits beautifully. It’s become a staple in my summer wardrobe!

So BEAUTIFUL! White is chic. Your addition
of hand-crocheted wide white trim on the short sleeves is unique. Seems versatile, a wear-with-anything top. BRAVO! Thanks for
sharing.
Beautiful! I love seeing what others do with the patterns – it can change my whole perception of a pattern and what can be done with it.
It’s perfect!
This was my favorite pattern last summer – sewn 3 versions and wore them all the time (not all at once, of course).
I think a white version is in must for this summer. Constança’s version is so beautiful!
Thank you for sharing 🙂
So beautiful!! Love everything about it, the pattern, the fabric, the colour, the lace… Perfect!
