We love what Colette did with the Lisette B6168 pattern! She changed it up just a bit by trying a petal/tulip sleeve tutorial. Look how cute the sleeves turned out! She’s here now to tell you about her pretty fit-and-flare dress.

Pattern used: Lisette B6168
Fabric used: Rayon
Did the fabric work well?
Perfectly! Rayons come in different weights, this one was reasonably stable for cutting and sewing but still has a very nice drape. I knew it wanted to be B6168 as soon as I saw it.
How did the sewing go?
I made a muslin which showed the size I picked was good for me, but I had to let out the side seams a little to give me some more ease. I tapered them out from the underarm to the waist. The sleeves were a little tight on me so I decided this was a great dress to try a tulip sleeve on!
What was the best part?
The best part was how cleverly the bodice and yoke all fit perfectly together. I love that the keyhole is made using a tab instead of a bias bound neckline. The bodice may look like quite a few pieces but it still comes together pretty quickly and I really like the added interest to the look of it.
The petal sleeve is so nice with this bodice style! Well done, Colette. The dress looks great on you.
Thanks so much Liesl! I forgot to mention that I followed the sewalong ;o)
I love this dress on you Colette – it really suits you (& love the fabric too 🙂 )
