a surprise thank you for some lucky customers

Each and every day we’re grateful for the support you show for our business. Last week we had an idea for how we could make that gratitude tangible. Here’s Liesl and our friend Jenny to show you what we did.

These packages will be arriving in mailboxes today and tomorrow. For those of you who receive one, we hope you enjoy it! For everyone else, we wish we could have had a gift for you too. But please know that we’re just as thankful to you for your support.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I watched your video, thinking “oh, those fabrics are so lovely and I would so love to be one of your recipients!” Two hours later, I found a box on my front porch from you with four of the beautiful fabrics I had just watched you cut along with 2 patterns and a pencil!!!!!
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!
I have loved your patterns from the moment I saw them and have collected most of them in many of the sizes. Your patterns are adorable and your instructions are meticulous.
I can’t thank you enough for your generosity!!
    Love, Diane

What a sweet and generous gesture! Just one more reason we all love this company! I’d be curious to see which pattern was included, if it’s one of the new spring line or one of the existing ones that would lend itself well to all those lovely knits ;-).

  15. Diane Bevis

The pattern I received was one I did not have, the Pinwheel Tunic & Slip Dress. Also included was the Have it All Wallet from the Straight Stitch Society, a pencil with some sewing sayings on it, several cards with more sewing sayings, a paper doll dachshund to attach to a spool and a sweet thank you card from Liesel.
I am so touched by the generosity! I am so glad to have found such a creative and generous company. Another big reason I returned to sewing…the friends I’m making and the fun I’m having is worth every minute and every penny I spend!!

  16. OOOH Diane is a lucky duck.

What a lovely lovely thing to do for your customers. Best kind of good will is mutual admiration and appreciation!!

  17. Jen B

I just got a little teary. Not only do you all have astounding integrity, you are generous and grateful for us! yay! Thanks for being such an amazing business and kind to boot!

  19. Those packages were filled with goodness. How fun for the recipients.

I’m intrigued by the shirt on the body form. Can you tell which pattern you used, or if this is a new pattern? I love the combination of simple shape with the turquoise plaid/check fabric.

  20. Phyllis in Rocky Bayou

The luck of the Irish was with me today! I found a box on my front porch, just like Diane’s. Ditto all of Diane’s comments

I have one question. What are the washing instructions for these knit fabrics?

Thanks so much for my surprise box. I’ll have to get out my Hopscotch dress pattern and start sewing knits.

  21. Phyllis! Glad the package arrived safely. I like to pre-wash knits in warm water and throw them in the dryer to eliminate any shrinkage. Knits do tend to shrink more than wovens, so it’s a good idea to dry them thoroughly to be sure they don’t shrink any further after they’re sewn. Best wishes!

I just arrived home from Spring break to a fantastic package! Thank you, thank you, thank you! I have loved your patterns since my first ice cream dress and they continue to be my go to when I’m ready for a new project. I’m thrilled with the new women’s patterns and can’t wait to start sewing along. Thanks again for all the goodies, you guys ROCK! Also, I may save my autographed note from Liesl. #sewinggroupie

Wow! I just got a fantastic surprise on my doorstep! I have moved recently, so it took awhile for the package to be forwarded to my new address. Imagine my surprise and delight to find the beautiful fabric and patterns when I got home from work. Thank yo so much for your thoughtful generosity. I’ve never sewn with knits, but now I can’t wait to try it!
