Once again this year, we (through our Straight Stitch Society brand) are proud to be a Grand Sponsor of the Hopes and Dreams Quilt Challenge for ALS.
The challenge is to raise awareness about ALS, to provide quilts (and to bring recognition, hope, and warmth) to ALS patients, and to raise funds for research for treatment and a cure.
Please consider participating by entering a quilt into the quilt challenge. Donated quilts will be given to ALS patients or used to raise awareness and research money for ALS. All donated quilts are eligible to win exciting and wonderful prizes. For more information about the rules, prizes, and to fill out an entry form, visit the Hopes and Dreams Quilt Challenge ALS website.
I missed you doing this last year, but as someone who has lost a grandfather, aunt and father to this disease, I thank you for this project and for working to raise awareness of it. Great advancements have been made in the treatment and care of those with ALS but we are still working on diagnosis and a cure.
For anyone else who doesn’t recognise the acronym, ALS stands for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. I had to look that one up, as nothing bugs me more than a TLA (three letter acronym) that’s not immediately familiar! 🙂
Looks like a lovely idea for gifting a quilt (the only use I’ve found for quilts myself 😉 )
Thank you Lightning McStitch for bringing that up and clarifying, sometimes we rely too much on acronyms, don’t we?
Thank you for your continued support of the Hopes and Dreams Quilt Challenge for ALS.
