customizing: playtime leggings sewing pattern

I’m so glad you’re excited about the Oliver + S Singles patterns! We’re excited too. Since everyone seemed to like last week’s raglan T-shirt customizing series, I thought we’d focus on the leggings pattern for a few posts.

Let’s start with a few of our favorite bloggers again, shall we? I love this floral version by the hungie gungie sisters, who also sewed the darling legging with the heart knee patch at the knees below. Cute, yes?

That T-shirt cracks me up.

Not flashy enough for you? How about gold lightning bolt leggings like these ones from Girl Like the Sea?

I think you could take the leggings pattern in so many different directions. I mean, with all the different printed knits that are available these days, you can even make leggings that  camouflage when you’re flying! I also love this pair that are made from a thrifted sweater. They look so cozy.

Over the next few days I’ll show you a few different ideas for customizing the pattern, including an easy way to add a racing or tuxedo stripe up the sides of the legs. Stay tuned!

I love those sweater leggings, great idea!

  2. Oh, I love this pattern so much…thanks for featuring these! My daughter has worn both pairs numerous times since I made them and I’ve gotten 2 more pairs cut out and ready to sew!

  3. I love the lightning bolts! And I also really love this pattern. This is timely for me, too, as I spent this week doing my own customizing to turn the legging pattern into a jegging pattern with front and back pockets, a faux fly and a separate waistband. I have part 1 of a tutorial on it on my blog today!
