It’s that time of the week again: Digital Release Thursday. And this week we’re bringing out the Nature Walk Pullover + Knit Pants pattern in digital format.
The Nature Walk Pullover is an easy-to-sew, casual, color-blocked top designed to be sewn in woven fabrics. It can be made in lightweight fabrics for a casual shirt or in heavier fabrics for use as a layering piece in place of a sweatshirt or jacket.
You might be interested in re-reading the blog post Liesl wrote when this pattern was originally released. She explains how you can use a heavier fabric as the base and a lighter printed fabric as the contrast on this piece to make an insulated top with some visual interest.
One of our favorite features of the pullover is the cute kangaroo pocket that kids love to use.
Inspired by a favorite pair of yoga pants, the pull-on knit pants have a hidden elastic waist and are designed for knits with at least 25% stretch. Liesl thinks this is the quickest and easiest pattern to sew that she has ever developed.
Because the pants don’t have a side seam, they can be used as a athletic pants and even as pajama bottoms in addition to being great everyday casual wear.
Intimidated by sewing with knit fabric? Don’t be. Here’s a set of tips for sewing with knit fabrics that will get you going. And do you notice that cute lettuce edge hem on the yellow pants above? Liesl did a tutorial for that some time ago that you might want to revisit if you decide to give the Nature Walk pants a try.
You can purchase the pattern as a digital download now in the Oliver + S Shop.
Please please do the After School Pattern next in digital download!!!
Hoping to see it soon, as it looks perfect for my boys.
