Today we welcome Rae from Made by Rae. Her new Lotus Pond fabric collection recently came out with Cloud 9 Fabrics. It is made up of 12 prints in quilting cotton, all certified organic! The colors are vibrant and the quilting cottons serve well for garments, especially children’s clothing. Do you remember Liesl’s summer edit? Well Rae is here today to share her summer edit to show us what she would pick if she were to sew up a new summer wardrobe for her children. Now I’ll hand it over to Rae.
Sketchbook Shirt I would love to see the blue “diamonds are forever” print in a boy’s button-down shirt; it reminds me a bit of a bandana and has a slightly western vibe; you could even add pearl snaps instead of buttons to take it a step further!
Sketchbook Shorts The indigo union chambray from Robert Kaufman would make a great set of shorts to compliment the Sketchbook Shirt.
School Days Jacket At Quilt Market this spring, the Cloud9 Fabrics booth featured a School Days Jacket made with the navy Lily Pond Print with orange frogs inside. It was such a wonderful and striking combination that I just had to feature it here!
Library Dress I’ve always loved the beautiful sash and kimono-inspired bodice on the Library Dress. I think it would look fantastic with these two bold blue and orange floral prints; I’d probably put the orange Lotus Drop in the sash and use the Blue Meadow blossom floral print for the main part of the dress.
Class Picnic Shorts I adore the envelope style of these shorts — the yellow snails would be really fun with a deep indigo union chambray border!
Ice Cream Dress This is a classic Oliver + S favorite that showcases two contrasting prints so nicely. I’d choose the green diamonds are forever with the multi-colored snails.
Bedtime Story Pajamas I’ve made more than one pair of these cute PJs for my children; I think for my son Elliot it would be really fun to try the two “hopping along” frog prints together. Now to choose — navy pajamas with orange trim? Or orange pajamas with navy trim?
Thanks so much Rae for visiting us today!
