After a whirlwind holiday season with the luxury of a real, proper break taken to spend time with family and friends, I’m finally back in the studio and ready for a new year. I hope you had a wonderful holiday as well!
Have you been looking back at 2012? Many of you have been assembling and posting collages of your 2012 sewing on the Flickr group, and it’s such a lot of fun to see all your projects from the past year! As always, you’re a prolific bunch with excellent taste. Here are a couple of mosaics from the group by Flickr users Lightning McStitch1 and Supergail:
I’m a bit sorry to mark the passing of another year because it means that S is growing up, and I just love the age of seven. For S, 2012 was the year of first lost teeth, the start of second grade and a wonderful teacher who we absolutely adore, and a growing independence and maturity. On the other hand, we still hold hands everywhere we go, she crawls into bed for a cuddle every morning before starting the day, and she still sits on my lap frequently, so I’m enjoying every moment of this closeness.
For me, 2012 meant the strengthening of many friendships, the launch of Straight Stitch Society, the continuation of my love affair with New York, and the opportunity to get to know many of you at workshops–both in person and via Creativebug. Todd and I are looking forward to 2013 for our marriage and our business partnership, and we’re looking forward to another year with you, too!
Here’s to 2013. May it be a wonderful year for all. I’m looking forward to traveling it with you!
