worn and seen in London

Last weekend we took a few days for a quick trip to London, where I haven’t been in a while. By far, my favorite part of our trip was a visit to the Columbia Road Flower Market and some of its neighboring surrounds on Sunday. So I snapped some photos to inspire (me and you)!

The flowers and plants were exceptional: big bouquets and gorgeous plants. I would have taken home another olive tree if I could have…obviously not suitable for air travel, but they were lovely. And I especially loved looking at how the people at the market expressed themselves through their clothing and styling. The way they combined their clothing, the choices they made, the cooler weather and the layers, the color combinations!

It’s still too warm in Madrid for more than a light jacket, but I wanted scarves and hats and boots after viewing these outfits.

Do you think she added the sweater sleeves to the denim jacket by herself? And aren’t the black and white elements in the middle photo (below) great together? Also: camera as accessory? I love the color of the jacket with the trousers. Look at the stipe trim on the trousers with the striped shirt cuff, lower left! And all those wonderful trench coats.

Texture, color, pattern, scarves, layers, bags. It’s all so inspiring.

Black on black, or black with navy. Navy with black.

Stripes with plaid, corduroy and knit textures, bright pops of color and print. Loafers and boots.

(What did I wear? Well, my new Prado Trench Coat, denim Hollywood Trousers, and a white Classic Shirt, among other items I brought. I’ll tell you about the new Prado Trench later!)

What did I take from it all? Definitely an eagerness to wear my fall clothing when I can–hopefully soon! I’ve been adding fall shoes and layers into my wardrobe as much as possible already, but I’m excited to wear my Prado Trench Coats, loafers, corduroy Hollywood Trousers, boots, blazers, and scarves. I’m looking forward to experimenting and playing with my clothing to wear them in new ways, too. I’m also excited for a few of my planned sewing projects, which I’ll share with you soon.

Are you excited about fall and your clothing? I hope you’ll play a little, too!
