We’re happy today to introduce you to Earth Science, the Fall 2017 collection of eight new apparel patterns by Named.
Earth Science is a tribute to nature and science. The collection takes its inspiration from the nature sciences, especially geology. You can see the geometric shapes of crystallized rock in the layered lines of the collection. These new styles include a variety of cuts and structures in the designs that are technically interesting and very modern.
The collection includes five dress patterns, one coat, one skirt, and one pair of pants. Two of the dresses can also be made as tops to extend the range of the styles.
The Agate Pencil Dress is an unlined, semi-fitted, kimono sleeved dress with a flattering cut. It is midi-length and features a pencil skirt-style hem and an invisible zipper fastening at the side seam with an invisible zipper at the front for adjusting the depth of the vent.
The Amber Pinafore Dress features an A-lined skirt, beautiful curved cut at the front, deep armholes, and a v-neck. It has a buckle fastening on the racerback detail at the back and an invisible zipper at the side.
The Beryl Dress is a bomber jacket-inspired, unlined mini dress. It features a zipper fastening at the front, short vent at the front hem, raglan style cut with gathered elastic waist, 3/4-length sleeves with sleeve openings gathered with elastic, and patch pockets.
The Gaia Quilted Coat is a very loose-fitting, straight-cut coat with lining. It has a contrast back and sides and is mid-thigh length. The jacket features wide lapels and intersecting cuts at the shoulders, and it fastens with three snaps. It also includes pockets with welts.
The Gemma includes two variations: a sporty sweater and a feminine jersey dress. Both variations have an interesting geometric cut at the front and a funnel neck. The sweater is loose-fitting, and has elastic casing on the sleeves and a drawstring at the hem. The dress is semi-fitted and maxi-length, and has a deep vent on the hem at the back.
The new Ruri pattern makes a pair of relaxed, yet smart sweatpants. They are slim fit, with tapered and slightly cropped legs. They feature pleat details with snap fastening at the leg openings, a faux fly at the front, elasticated back waist, and side pockets.
The Stella pattern includes two variations: a casual blouse and a feminine dress. Both variations have kimono sleeves with raglan style cut. Sleeve seams and side seams are sewn with French seams. The blouse collar is triangular, and the narrow cuffs have pleats that fasten with snaps. The blouse fastens with snaps at the front. The waist and cuffs of the dress are gathered with elastic, and the dress has a pussy bow collar and a vent at the neckline.
And, finally, the new Tierra Wrap Skirt is a casual and stylish, straight-cut wrap skirt with an asymmetrical cut at the hem. The length is below the knee, and it features a wrap tie fastening that gathers the front beautifully. The skirt is double-layered. You can use the same fabric for both the shell and the lining.
