Great project for novicesI purchased a sewing machine with the intention of making masks. I quickly discovered that I enjoyed sewing and decided to try my hand at some PJs for my kids. I came across this site after watching Liesl's video on how to read a sewing pattern. Yes - I am VERY new to sewing. The instructions were crystal clear. The web discussions on the site related to the pattern were also very helpful. I have now completed THREE pairs of pajamas. My daughter (age 7) LOVES them and wears them all day when she can. They are so cute and comfortable for her. I gained a lot of confidence from this project. I would recommend Oliver & S and Liesl & Co to anyone interested in learning to sew.Was this helpful?Easy to sew, perfect fit and so comfyI am an absolute beginner, but oliver + S patterns are so easy to follow, that I recommend them to everyone I know. This pattern turned out true to measurements listed and is the perfect fit. I am sewing especially the pants at the moment, because my girls find them so comfy, that they requested them in a variety of fabrics. Was this helpful?Adorable for Christmas pajamasI made Christmas pajamas for my little boy. Everything fits like puzzle pieces! I used quilting cotton but may switch to flannel or double gauze for more soft feels. Was this helpful?Great Pattern!I made a Christmas version of the Bedtime Story pajamas. They fit my daughter perfectly, and she seems to feel very comfort in them! I like the tie in the outside, but next time, I may substitute for a snap on the inside tie. This pattern makes an adorable set of pjs!Was this helpful?Nice projectI'm glad I measured my girls because they are petit and I had to make the pyjamas 1-2 sizes smaller for both of them. It wasn't obvious to me that the seam allowances were included, but I realized they were. I added snap buttons where both ribbons go because my girls weren't able to tie the ribbons themselves. On the second pair, I made the neckband and leg band wider which looks better I think. The girls love them :)Was this helpful?Very easy and clear instructionsVery easy to sew, many straight lines. The pattern is original and the result is very nice. Better for younger children in my opinion. Was this helpful?Easy to sew, great resultMade three different sizes, the pattern instructions are clear, the pieces are quick to stitch. I really appreciated finding a unique style PJ that worked up so easily and looks great. Was this helpful?Delightful to sew!I loved making these for my granddaughter. The pattern is clear and concise and the final result is great. Was this helpful?Great patternAs yet I havent sewn this pattern. I have joined all the pieces together which was very straightforward and the sewing instructions seem very easy to follow. Was this helpful?Brilliant! My sons were desperate I finally made them something. A year of self taught sewing behind me I needed something easy with clear instructions. I trusted the positive reviews and I'm glad I did. The bedtime pattern didn't disappoint! The boys chose the bedtime pyjamas and the fabric, and they're very delighted of what turned up! I hardly have the time to wash & dry them. The fit is perfect. I used the measurement table which is highly reliable to cut a different lenghth and width.1 of 1 customers found this helpful. Was this helpful?Great patternI am new to sewing, but I felt that this pattern was a cinch to sew! Lovely directions and pictures to guide me through each step. Great for a beginner sewing project or anyone who wants to make cute pajamas! Was this helpful?Great pjs!I loved working with this pattern. It was simple and satisfying and fast after the first one. The only trouble I had was with the binding but once I did it my usual way (to sew it to the wrong side first, fold over then top stitch on the right side of the garment) I was happy. Thank you Liesl for another wonderful pattern.1 of 1 customers found this helpful. Was this helpful?Super fast to sewWell I am not the fastest at sewing but I manage to finish the pants in 1.5h (pre-cut). I haven't made the kimono yet but the pants are superb - I made 2 pairs for my little boy and he loves them, comfy and cute. Patter itself is great quality - easy to stick together and all notches etc align properly - nice and easy. I will never buy any pajamas again thanks to Liesl! Thank you!Was this helpful?bedtime story PJs pants - digital.Overall I enjoyed working with the pattern. The instructions are pretty clear. The the waist band instructions did give me a bit of trouble. I'm new to sewing, but was able to figure it out and my son had PJ bottoms for his school's PJ day. Still need to try and make the top.Was this helpful?LoVe ThiS PJ's!it was (like always) a perfect pattern and perfect fit for my little girl...... only thing i did was change the ribbons for snaps...Was this helpful?FantasticI have made the pants several times in several of the sizes. My kids are average height, slightly lean, and I find the pattern runs slightly large, which is great because I will get more than one season's use of them. I have only made the top once (to make a matching set of Japanese triple gauze cotton with Liberty floral trim--exquisite!--PJs for my daughter), and it lived up to my expectations. Was this helpful?Oh, how I love these pj's!Gorgeous and quick to sew. This is my most favourite pyjama ever. They have such a lovely look. The tie front is so sweet. I use cotton webbing for the inside ties as it grips a little better. Some girls have struggled with the edge of the front band. I have blogged what I do if you would like a peep. http://fiveandcounting-motherof5.blogspot.com.au/2012/03/quick-bedtime-story-tutorial.html As you will see, it also makes a lovely blouse! http://www.flickr.com/photos/motherof5/6085054529/in/set-72157625616572510 I found the bottoms a bit snug for a cloth nappy so I did a easy tute for sizing up. http://fiveandcounting-motherof5.blogspot.com.au/2011/01/bedtime-story-pjs-for-big-bottom.html The only problem with this pattern is that it only goes up to a size 8 (but it is very roomy)1 of 1 customers found this helpful. Was this helpful?Fun and unique pajamasI made all three of my kiddos a pair of these for Christmas this year. They looked to cute on them! They are a quick and fun sew.Was this helpful? -
Errata
- In the first printed version of this pattern, the Top Chest and the Pants Length measurements were printed incorrectly on the pattern envelope. Please refer to the measurements chart under the "details" tab for the correct values. This error has been corrected in the digital version of this pattern.
- In the first release of the digital version of this pattern, there was a minor error in the pattern printing instructions section found on page 3. The document said that the last two pages were full-sized pattern sheets and could be set to a service bureau. In fact, only the last page of the document is a full-sized pattern sheet. This error has been corrected in the version of the digital pattern available now.

Determining Which Printing You Have
As errata are discovered, they are marked for correction in subsequent printings of the pattern. To determine which printing of an instruction sheet or pattern sheet you have, look at the copyright box which appears on each. Toward the bottom of the box, there is a series of numbers.
The lowest number you see there indicates which printing you have. For example, if the lowest number in the box on the instruction sheet is "2," you have an instruction sheet from the second printing. Any errors in the instructions mentioned for the first printing have been corrected in your version. If the lowest number in the box on the pattern sheet is "1," you have a copy of the pattern sheet from the first printing.
Pattern sheets and instructions sheets can be printed separately, so be sure to check the errata notices for pattern pieces against the printing number on the pattern sheet and errata notices for instructions against the printing number on the instruction sheet.
