I made the trousers out of an argyle print blended fabric. They were adorable. The instructions were clear and precise.

    Reviewer: (Davis, CA, USA)

I am a grandmother and having been making clothing since I was a teen. I have NEVER found a pattern company that makes the instructions so easy to follow and where everything works perfectly the first time! I generally work in short snippets of time and with oliver+s patterns I do not need to read the step before or the ones following to figure out what I need to do. The patterns are amazingly clear! Thanks

Oliver + S patterns are top notch in every way. The designs are current and similar to high end clothing and don't look "home made" or crafty. Novice or advanced sewers will appreciate the clear instructions and the precision of the pattern pieces. Finding cool and hip designs for boys is a challenge and all of the patterns for boys hit the mark.

5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Amazing, 11/22/2013

    Reviewer: (AMHERST, NY, United States)

So let's get real. Welt pockets? Impossible. I mean who can do them unless you are a master sewist? Well I can do them perfectly first try. Why? These instructions are amazing. Sure it takes time, but that is why they were perfect first go 'round. They are also fiddly, meaning they have lots of little steps. But that doesn't mean it is hard or that you shouldn't do it. All those steps are a result of clear and precise directions resulting is perfect pockets. And each time I do it, it will take less and less time. I am dreaming of where else I can add welt pockets just so I can get more practice. Even if you never ever make the pants or the vests, the entire pattern is well worth the money for the welt pocket instruction. I kid you not. If I could give 10 stars for the welt pocket instructions ALONE I would.

5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 ADORABLE little boy outfit with AMAZING details, 11/6/2013

    Reviewer:

The details are amazing. It came out so nice! I LOVE the fit. I made a 2T for my almost two year old. He is pretty much normal size for his age and I had to hem them up a little over 3 inches. The pants fit a little baggy and the vest is just a little snug and short (relative to the pants) -- I LOVE it this way. Super cute on a little boy--but I could see maybe lengthening the vest for older boys or sizing up or down on the vest or pants depending on style preferences. I highly recommend following the pictoral tutorial for the welt pocket (https://oliverands.com/blog/2013/10/tutorial-how-to-sew-a-welt-pocket.html). I found them pretty tricky to visualize with the written instructions. I used to think sewing for boys would not be as fun as for girls but patterns like these make me really look forward to it!!!

    1. In the first printing of this pattern, there was a minor error on page 4 of the instructions. The second to last sentence of Step 1 under Make the Belt Loops should read, "Cut the two finished belt loops into six 3 1/2" pieces," instead of five pieces.
