5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Very easy, handsome shorts, 9/2/2014

    Reviewer: (Aptos, California, USA)

Took me very little time to sew these size 4T shorts up in a sturdy gray/white striped seersucker. The directions were complete and easy to follow. Would like to have instructions for using buttonhole elastic to make waist adjustable as I sew 6-12 months ahead of when they will be worn, and hate to have to guess on the waist measurement.

    Reviewer: (Brandon, Manitoba, Canada)

This pattern had easy-to -follow instructions and great results as with all Oliver and S patterns. I have only made the shorts so far. I loved the pleats and the flat front. This was my first faux fly. It was easy to do, thanks to clear instructions, and it looks like the real thing. My daughter, who is almost 12, really likes them. This was also my first digital pattern, and I was amazed at how easy it was to put together. I highly recommend this pattern!

    Reviewer: (Rexburg, Idaho, United States)

This pattern is very nice and has great instructions. I love the boy patterns and wish there were more of them. I also wish they came in bigger sizes too. My oldest is outgrowing the size 12 so I have to modify the pattern to make it fit. Bottom line-it's a great pattern and I will sew it many more times.

5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 The Quickest 'Proper' Boys Shirt you will ever Sew, 7/28/2013

    Reviewer: (Tintinara, SA, Australia)

I am sure this pattern was designed just for me! My favourite O+S pattern and my most utilised by far. The shirt is so snappy with all the details of a 'proper' shirt but a clever one piece collar to save time. The yoke attachment has to be 'sewn' to be believed, so clever and no unsightly seams. Do take note of the pattern illustration. This shirt is styled to finished at the waistband of the shorts, if you wish it to tuck, you must add length. This is simple to do, I added length at the side seam notches. I made many sharp versions for my son and now my teenage twin daughters wear them as well as having had linen versions made for them selves http://fiveandcounting-motherof5.blogspot.com.au/2013/03/sophisticated-sketchbook.html I have a full tute here http://fiveandcounting-motherof5.blogspot.com.au/2012/04/sketchbook-shirt-tutorial-part-1.html including a nifty way to get the collar to fit if the seam allowance of the yoke seams was a little off. (Mine often is) The shorts? What haven't I made with that pattern. Trousers, jeans (skinny&bootleg) for my son AND my daughters. See here http://www.flickr.com/photos/motherof5/sets/72157625212212623/ I loved this pattern so much that when my son grew out of them as a pull on short, I added a zip fly so he could keep wearing the style. http://www.flickr.com/photos/motherof5/8053039166/in/set-72157625212212623 I cannot say enough good things about this pattern. It is a must! In fact, I ordered a second copy to keep as a back up.
