<p>I own the pattern and have never made it &#8211; and I admit it&#8217;s because I prefer a lined jacket.  I worry that my version would end up too bathrobe-like and not be worn.</p>

It was a teeny bit of a wriggle pulling it down through the chest, however.  I don&#8217;t know if that helps or not! Honestly, if I were sewing in a rush it would work without the placket&#8230;but if I were sewing for someone else&#8217;s child, I&#8217;d put it in.</p>

I am going to stitch them together however&#8230;.but they totally last; I hand them down to our friends when outgrown and they really look brand new.  Super comfortable (per my kid) &#8211; sad though that she can&#8217;t wear sandals to school.</p>
