<p>The other day my seven year old kissed her daddy on the top of the head and said:<br />

The gathering stitches are at 3/8 and 5/8 and then you sew in between them at your normal 1/2 seam allowance and then remove the visible gathering stitches after sewing the seam.  Doing it this way gives you nice even gathers.  Good luck with the rest 🙂</p>

My girls are on the taller side, though, so depending on what I&#8217;m making, I will add a couple of inches and then decide if they&#8217;re needed when it&#8217;s done.  The last couple of times I made this jacket, I added 3 inches to the bottom. </p>

<p>My most viewed item is a dress made from the Cottage Home tutorial in 2011.  I used Anna Maria Horner voile and was terrified that I would ruin such expensive fabric.  But both my girls adored that dress and wore it until it was indecently short.  </p>
