I made the 12, 18 and 4 (have a 7 cut) and depending on the stretch of my knit I had to ease the collar.  On a few of them I clipped just a tiny bit (like 2-3 notches) of the collar on the front sides, the back was fine on all of them.  The notches are especially helpful on this one.  </p>

									<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I messed up on my first one too and had to unpick:) I threw mine through the wash and steamed the neck with an iron. It seemed to help. On both sizes I made, I clipped the collar just a bit in the front to help ease it in.</p>

So basically, you lay your hem gauge on the wrong side of the fabric and pull the raw edge to the inch mark you want.  Like in the second picture (don&#8217;t know why they reversed), I pulled it taut to the 5/8&#8243; and ironed.
